First part of the movie great. Half not good. The last 30 minutes good to finish it off. I like that they also shot this in 89 locations in Austin lol (jokes) and a few in Mexico. Shit was really all over the place I felt like they were trying way too hard. They captured a bunch of shit and threw it all in one film. Like they didn’t want some of the scenes go to waste because some of the scenics were really good shots. I understand the artist aspect of the film but damn a lot of what was shot felt like fillers…what could have been a good hour and 45 minutes at most got stretch a little over 2 hours and got a bit redundant and repetitive after a while. I understand this was a experimental film but fuck man calm those shots down a bit ppl can get lost from time to time. They all did good in the film but I’m not gonna lie there were moments where I really just wanted this movie to be over with because of the non stop Airbnb’s throughout the filming. 2 in a half stars out of 5 for me. Probably want to watch this high lol

What I really liked about this movie was that before they knew it: even Zimbardo and his former convict professor friend (Jesse) all got caught up in their role play and the allure of having power over others had seeped into their minds too. To the point that Philip started to think this was HIS prison. That Jesse played the part of an uncaring cruel parole officer so well he experienced what it was like to lord that power over the “prison scum”. (I’m talking about the movie characters. Not the real people)
