My parents played Tom while I was quite young, I suspect the impact was both good and bad, but what an impact!

The series Connections he did on the BBC was one ofy all time favourites as a kid. My dad had it all taped and saved on VHS, and I watched it so many times. The way he presented the interconnectivity of development got me so jazzed that I wrote a thesis paper on the effects of agriculture on technological development for a 6th or 7th grade project.

we're one step away from nuclear war. on the 21st of November 2024 Russia attacked the Ukrainian city of Dnipro with an RS-26 ICBM modified to cary none-nuclear war heads. If you are far in the future reading this, so far into the future that i am long dead (i'm 19 years of age when writing this), please do not do the same things we are doing today.

I'm 32, and I disagree. "Mutually assured destruction" still applies. The only real threat of nuclear or dirty virus bomb stuff is from those that have no fear of death because they believe in an Afterlife. Russians know death is real. I guess old man Putin could do something crazy, if I was facing the end of all my life, I might go out on a big bang.

FYI "we" did nothing wrong. Russia can't keep itself from trying to take over its neighbors. It's not just Ukraine, look up Russian attacks on other countries. And these attacks cannot be compared to recent US led military efforts. Different goals, different strategies, and vastly different regions. And the US hasn't attacked a neighbor since the American Mexican War. I don't want to hear any of that false equivocation crap.

With the state of the world today, and the illogical things that are being either suggested or enforced upon people, I have to wonder whether aliens 👽 have been behind the madness that is destroying our planet. I want you all to think about this concept before thinking I’ve lost my mind. Why are we constantly being corralled and forced into living like cattle headed to slaughter? The current world establishment does nothing to better our lives, but instead creates regulations and restrictions that stifle our enjoyment of life while we are alive. Perhaps we are being systematically taken over by some other life forms from somewhere else in the universe and we just don’t realize it.🤔🤔🤔

it's just the old greed that's been pretty central to the human condition ever since we stopped being nomadic. bunch of super rich wastes of life have been lobbying and finessing their way through the places that matter - it's capitalism at its finest, the rich do everhthing in their power to keep the poor poor, occupied, and if possible overworked and at each other's throats while they gradually change society into giving themselves and their mates more and more advantages. no need for extraterrestrials, just plain old parasites of society that exploit and oppress anything they can get their disgusting little hands on. there most likely are aliens out there somewhere, so you already sound way less crazy to me than someone who comes up with things like "god appointed trump as president" but just think about this: you're part of an alien race that's advanced enough to travel to other planets - imagine finding us, a self deluding, self destroying, genocidal, oppressive bunch of nearly hairless apes who can't even solve basic problems they already have solutions to like starvation - idk about you but I'd steer clear of that place, why would you want to control such an inept and aggressive life form? they'd already have better technology, probably figured out solutions to our petty squabbles a while ago or they wouldn't have got to this point, and can get all the resources they want from wherever they want. not worth the risk of being discovered just to have the apes start shooting everything from arrows over bullets to rockets and nukes your way. if there is advanced life out there and they know about us, we humans are definitely the weird kid nobody wants to talk to on the playground
