my two ankles had issues. One was classic overuse tendonitis. the other was an injury that in my opinion lead to Haglunds’ Deformity (big bump in back of heal). Taping solved issue for one ankle but I am still dealing with the bump ankle. I was told the same thing - maybe causal, maybe not. In my opinion , it is causal.

Long ago I had an X-ray that showed a bone spur on my heel. Don’t remember how it stopped hurting but now after dealing with TKR on the left leg the swelling and pain is back on the right heel. I believe it’s been over compensation. Is the bone spur the cause of most of these folks or just muscle? Taping - will it work with bone spur? Thank you - great presentation.

Hello long time runner here. I have had a severe Achilles Tendonitis back in 2018, and it became a chronic issue up to this day. I was 38 when I got it, I am 44 now. Tried a lot if things, Physios, even the machine you have :) lots of treatment and exercises but it was never corrected. Starting two weeks ago I stated kinesio taping just like you suggested and within two weeks it works like magic. Don't get me wrong, probably just like you suggested regular taping would work too, but I took my chances with a rocktape. At least in the morning I do not feel the stiffness and taking the first 4-5 steps are not painful anymore. Thanks a lot for the advice 🙂👍Very much appreciated.

That’s great to hear you came up with an approach that is providing help. Just don’t let the problem persist long term (it does need to eventually “go away”). For me , it seemed like the longer the inflammation persisted, the longer it took to go away. I have heard people say it took them years!!
@emirgokcen1906Ай бұрын
@@jeromep4148 True, it takes a while. Unfortunately it is an injury that doesn't simply go away if you stop doing what you are doing or exercising. It actually gets worse if you don't use your archives tendon at all, unless of course you rupture it completely which is the last stop in this journey 😄It is not a simple injury in that sense, that you have keep doing some kind of moderate exercise while not making it worse 🤓

Hi Jerome. I am 58 and i had a complete rupture of my Achilles tendon (while playing Indoor shuttle badminton) on 2nd December, 2023 and had undergone surgery on 4th December, 2023. After two leg casts and vacoped brace, i am walking (with a slight limp) for the past 15 days. I don't want to give up playing, but i am afraid of re-rupture. Your video fascinates me and gives me hope.. Can i resume playing with the athlete tape on, even after my surgery? Your feedback please.
@jeromep41483 ай бұрын
I think you need to get set up with a really competent physio and go thru a rigorous PT process - not skipping any steps and not overdoing it along the way. A tennis buddy of mine had a complete rupture and had a complete recovery. Taping IMO minimizes overstretching - even with tape , the achilles fires and supports a ton of load. Your PT is all about restoring the ability to handle load. Treatmyachilles.com has a ton of videos on it (all up on KZbin) - another reference source for you. Good luck.
