The video I watched prior to this, tried to be entertaining but failed to teach me anything at all. Your video was everything I was looking for, informative, well thought-out and extremely useful. Thank you.

This is so intimidating for a beginner 101 class. How many times do you say it depends it depends. It depends. There's so many brands and so many software selections, How does a beginner even get started? This is way over the average Joe's head . I truly appreciate your effort though. Thanks

The fact I can root my K1 and run klipper/fluidd is pretty darn awesome though, I've setup a macro to handle a print queue with auto ejection, it just performs like a beast! I don't print objects larger than the 22x22 and it's all in single color, so to me the K1 wins every day of the week, especially at todays price point ($350) I do have a a1 mini as well, just because it was so cheap and I wanted to test it out and see if it could potentially replace my K1 as I expand my printfarm, but so far I'm loving my K1 way too much :D

Hey mate. You did a great job on this video. It's not long at all. It's like a short 30 minute class for beginners. It's exactly what people need to get introduced to this hobby :-)

Thanks for the informative video. Also, good to see a youtuber that understands clear audio without echo is important, and that it doesn't take an expensive mic to make it happen! ;)

Step 17, don't forget to sniff any fumes released by your 3D printer... Jokes aside, many beginners are not aware of this and a tutorial like this should include a brief warning regarding this.

Not sure if youre still doing the testing, but Id like to see the difference between Inland (microcenters brand) PLA, PLA+, PLA Pro, and Tough PLA. Also just a note, but colors actually have a pretty significant effect on material properties, with white being notoriously bad. For future tests, try to use natural (if available) for best results, or at least all the same color (black) across all types.

1 year later all those problems are solved with the K1 max 30x30x30 Supports multi-color printing with up to 16 colors using 4 CFS and I bought it for €680 without CFS. I really have no regrets, perfect prints without any problems.

Okay, but what if, theoretically, someone had hundreds of spools. The cable wraps and parts drawers are great, but they only use a few spools at a time. Are there any projects that could use dozens or hundreds?

The Reason the prints done by the K1 are trash is probably because you didnt take off the top plate or didnt open the front door. This lead to the enclosure getting too hot and warping the product.

If all of this sounds intimidating to you, here is a guide for non-tinkerers: 1. Get a Bambu Lab 3D printer, any that works for your budget 2. Put it on a isolated VLAN / dedicated connection (or LAN-only mode if you don't want to share your prints with the Chinese government) 3. Enjoy hassle-free 3D printing
