In this sport we're always looking for a place to land. I haven't ever run out of gas, but have had a few engine out landings. The other day my throttle swivel E-clip came off, so I had no throttle control as she went to idle. I was a little above treetop level and landed in a open field, but going downwind, so I almost got wrapped up in a barbed wire fence. It wasn't a pretty landing, but like they say, any landing you can walk away from is a good one. Especially when you can go get breakfast with your friends afterward. Fly safe and have Merry Christmas!

Apparently they are said to help a glider come out of a deep spiral by itself more preventing pilot input. I was told that many gliders need these winglets for better EN certification. It is true in aviation that winglets help reduce induced drag whichnis a product of lift but I find it hard to believe a paraglider benefit much from these in reducing drag. It seems they would cause a little profile drag which would offset the benefit a bit. Im still trying to wrap my head around it

What an incredible site. It's so nice to see (and hear) a video without an audile vario! I wonder how hard it would be to make a little app on my apple watch that connects to my vario so I can turn off the beeps and replace it with vibrations. I still want the information it provides... just in a different format. Thanks for the inspo!
