Thanks for the useful info. I waited until age 70 to collect Social Security, which is 32 percent more than my age 66 benefit. If you had $200k you could throw away for 15-20 years, you can afford to let your SS benefit grow. That's my lifetime "annuity" which also has a COLA. I don't think QLACs are inflation-adjusted and I think you pay taxes on the payouts (deferred money). Finally, like car dealers, the people selling these annuities are paid on commission, so do they really prioritize my needs?

When you compared social media following for EL and Loreal , you keep forgetting to look at the other brands EL owns; for example Tom Frod has a following of 12 mils on Instagram. Most consumers do not even know Tom Ford is owned by EL , so they follow and talk out the brands EL owns individually by itself . The research seems incomplete.

I've moticed more efforts to keep things stocked and neat. Im unnder water on this by about 50. Should I stay or should I go and take the remittance and buy WMT?

This sounds promising. You can read the q and a from their last earnings call. They belief margins will recover somewhat over the next year and emphasized it takes a while to play out but will happen. I am holding and going to apply patience. Wall St will revise up once they see margins actually improve.

I am sorry to hear. Not advice but I personally would hold if I was down 50% and I believed the company would recover eventually. It may be a long wait, I would give it at least 5-10 years unless you think you can make up for it elsewhere. Good luck!

Hi Michelle you have given me more information and understanding than my financial advisor, what he does is just gives me what the market is doing not what I should move or make changes to move money where it will or most likely gain and better positioning. Im invested in bond funds that just has been stagnant for 6 years now., I mean it's has made money but not very happy with where I am. Im retired 6 years ago rolled my 401k into bonds at a lower risk of loosing money, like you mentioned he says it's better to stay in long-term but as I get older I really hardy see much gains...what do you think about what I just mentioned??
@MichelleMarki2 ай бұрын
Thank you Robert for your questions and feedback. While I am not a financial adviser and cannot tell you "what to do," I have suggestions for consideration. You may wish to try to figure out how much your lifestyle in retirement (including housing and healthcare expenses) costs per year, and add up how much income you are getting (from social security and other sources). It would also be worthwhile to consider how much of a yield or return on investment you are seeking. If you are OK with 4-5% from bonds or high yield savings for the "safety and consistency" aspect, maybe some amount can remain there. But if you think your money should better perform so you can pay for future lifestyle costs, you might want to think about if aiming for a 10-15% return from the stock market or elsewhere is realistic or even possible. Right now I would not just trust that the S&P 500 (index fund) will continue to return 15% (give or take) a year as it has done for the last several years, but rather I would focus on individual companies' stocks that can perform well no matter if we're in a recession or a growing economy. I would encourage you to think about if you want to be committed to studying individual companies in order to try to achieve higher return rates. Otherwise I would seek side hustles or perhaps business opportunities to generate income outside of the stock and bond markets. Hope this helps! Good luck.

But where is the price analysis? The 2 things I am really worried about it that I cannot try the products. The brand does not really exist here in the Netherlands. Second, I am worried this was a fluke and that the popularity is temporary. How can we be sure that the sales won't fall more? how can we be sure the moat is strong? It's a too hard for me.
@MichelleMarki2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question and feedback! In these video collaborations, we do not attempt to study the stock price but the fundamentals of the underlying business. It is up to each individual investor to determine if they can find a price they are willing to pay. It is possible the company's products are a fad, and their rapid rise in terms of valuation could be interpreted as a "fluke." I cannot be sure their sales won't fall more, nor do I know how strong the moat is. These are essential questions other investors will have studied and figured out, and you must do the same. Otherwise it is totally understandable to determine it is too hard, it certainly is too hard for me.

Great job, being a good listener, Michelle. I read the book, too. It is a really tough business, hence a duopoly with DLTR. CNBC has a good video on YT recently about the economics of self checkout, as that is where alot of shrinkage (theft) happens.

Thank you for your feedback Aaron, glad you read the book. What did you think of it? Did that video have any suggestions for how businesses can improve the theft/shrinkage issue with self checkouts? At a Target recently, I saw 3 workers monitoring 6 self checkouts. Is that what it might take?

@@MichelleMarki Solid read. Nothing too special. Really highlights how hard the business is. It'll take a Prop 36 like in CA to wake the general public up. More workers will increase the price of the goods as the margins are already tight.

Do you know of any type of annuity (QLAC or otherwise) that can be purchased in a Beneficiary IRA (an inherited IRA)? It sounds like the 10 year rule, requiring all funds to be fully withdrawn within 10 years, makes it impossible to buy an annuity in such an account. Is that correct? Thanks.
@MichelleMarki6 ай бұрын
Hi there, that's a great question! I have no clue but I hope you might find an answer. Would not the funds from a beneficiary IRA become your own, and then you can decide what to do with it? On a bigger question, how can beneficiaries invest within the inherited IRA unless they have no choice but to disburse the funds and then you invest it in your own account? Good luck!

Excellent comments and, I agree with you 100 percent. Forget about everybody else, the only thing that really counts is, what you decide to do financially for yourself and your family. Also, wealth even as a certain dollar value in your investment, retirement, and bank accounts is very subjective. Prefer to use the term financially comfortable which, for myself is as follows: I would buy Bitcoin and buy hard assets like gold /silver as a store of value while also actively trading.....managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 432k in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Francine Duguay, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.
