I'm impressed with the stainless tube bender. Could I get a quote for a 19mm. diam. stainless steel tube bender.

Thanks for the instruction! I went looking for that bender - it was $900, and has been discontinued. I looked at your site - no tools listed. Is there a bender worth buying in the sub $100 range I can use to bend 1/2" stainless seamless .049 wall for an older skid steer? The lines are no longer available, and I would like to make my own. Thanks!

Please do not ever make a video ever again. The audience is viewing the various ball valves from such a distance to make this an absolutely useless video. Did you not view the video before posting to KZbin? Where are the closeups? I have seen eight year old and 10 year old siblings create better videos.

Thanks Too much applied points.. But why you didn't use the tube cutter which is more convenient rather than hand saw . Good luck and again thanks
@SuperlokTV
@SuperlokTV 11 ай бұрын
Tube cutters are very convenient. However, they tend to leave a sharp ridge inside the end of the tubing. This narrowing just at the very tip can cause turbulence, pressure drop and flow restriction in the line. While this issue is easily fixed with a de-burring tool on soft metals like copper, stainless is quite hard which makes it difficult to remove the burr. The saw teeth leave a burr also, but the are quite a bit smaller and can be easily handled with a hand tool. If I was to be working on tubing in the shop all day, my preferred cutting tool would be a band saw. But I understand that band saws are not viable for field use.

i build small jet engines...its just a hobby,,i have great difficulty in making up the vaporising tubes for the combustion chamber. . its 10mm tubing bent to 180 degrees what they call walking sticks ..when i make one it nearly allways gets collapsed and need to beat it to gain some sort of result..... each engine has 10 of these walking sticks ,, i would dearly like to purchase a device to solve my problem.... regards laurence

Some vids say the L and R are for which side of the bend you are bending from, Left or Right. I'm trying to figure that part out so not a criticism, just want to know
@SuperlokTV
@SuperlokTV Жыл бұрын
There is an element of truth in the "left and Right" idea. However, I feel it is confusing to say left and right. These are subjective terms that would be impacted by your position relative to the work. If we consider the origin of your measure to be the "Right" and the tail that you measure towards the "Left" then when you have the "right" side clipped into the latch you are bending toward the "left". This would use the "L" mark to make a 90° bend. If there is not space for your bender to bend in this direction, you will have to Reverse the direction of the bender now bending from the left to the Right. This would then use the "R" mark to make the same 90° bend at the correct location. For this reason, I would say that "L" is for L bend and "R" is for reversed bend.

measkure from edge to edge on the same side of the circle to get center
@SuperlokTV
@SuperlokTV Жыл бұрын
You are correct. This is a viable method to measure center to center if the fittings are in the same plane and you are making a straight line between them (as in the video). However, once a few more dimensions are needed, it gets a bit more muddled. At that point you can either measure to the center or start doing some math to subtract half of your fittings diameter.

What tool do you use to bending a 1" tubbing ?
@SuperlokTV
@SuperlokTV Жыл бұрын
1" tubing can be bent using a couple of different options of tool. They do make large scale lever style benders for 1" tubing, but it would be easier to work with something like an Imperial 270 gear type bender. The important thing to keep in mind if you are bending any size of tubing for use with tube fittings, is make sure you are using a quality bender that does not mar the surface of the tubing. At higher pressures any imperfections can become a failure point.

3/4 turn for 3/16 inch and smaller and 2, 3, and 4 mm. Also when you remove ferrules in real time applications your built in gauge gap will break loose,but you will leak or projectile. @@SuperlokTV

whether such fasteners can withstand a pressure of 250 bar?
@SuperlokTV
@SuperlokTV Жыл бұрын
The pressure rating of these fittings is dependent on the diameter and wall thickness of the tubing used. For this video we were working with 3/8" diameter tubing with a 0.035" wall thickness. This tubing selection would limit working pressures to 3,300 PSI (227.5 Bar). If we would have used a 0.049" wall tubing we could go up to a working pressure of 4,800 PSI (330.9 Bar) or up to 6,500 PSI (448.2 Bar) with a 0.065" wall tubing. It is always best to consult a pressure rating chart before selecting tubing for your application, especially since these values change significantly with the diameter of the tubing as well.

I would have liked to see examples eg, hydraulic top Link or as in a tractor loader valve and why they are used in that particular application. I bought myself an older Kubota tractor and now teaching myself hydraulic basics and how it applies in real life situations.
