This kind of speed needs to be done by a low flying airplane so you can get the real perspective of passing hills and mountains.

It really pissed me off that the white knights of British cycling got really worked up in 2015 when Dave was asked to be the junior mentor for the GB academy in Italy. These white knights, the Hoy's, the pembertons, the armisteads, the Kenny's, the big stars of GB track cycling were shitting theirselves in 2016when the GB jiffy bag scandal come out.

He’s appearing round the corner from me next week! I saw him in Nanci Griffith’s band, when she sang this a good few years ago. A great song.

I feel like it's important to quickly add here that there is a HUGE difference between reading and SIGHT-reading....also, it'd be nice if more people who write out parts actually knew how to write for guitar. Unfortunately, only a very small percentage of well-trained, reading guitarists actually know how to write correctly for guitar. If you don't know how to write for guitar, don't blame the guitarist for not giving you the outcome you want. Frustrating to get handed a piano chart with no chord symbols, and clustered five-note chords in the treble clef with triads spanning tenths in the bass clef at the same time all over the chart....you end up spending the whole rehearsal/session constantly asking "What do you want me to play here? and here? and here? What notes do you want here? Do you want the lower voicing here, or the higher? You want bass clef here or treble here? You want rhythm here or melody here?" etc. Might as well not even have the dang chart to begin with...There needs to be a healthy balance of ability from the player's end and preparedness from the composer's/director's/orchestrator's end. Can't tell you how many times I get handed charts and I end up just having to re-write them on my own.

Monster technique, but at least in these examples never seems to do as anything melodically beautiful or as dramatically arranged and phrased as EJ.

What a complete player. Plays every style and does it with a unique voice and clean as a whistle. Only found out about this guy a couple of weeks ago and I've been playing for 20 years. I'm stealing so many new licks hahaha

I found out about him about 3 weeks ago when he was one of the guitarists (the other one was the late great Allan Holdsworth) playing on one of Chad Wackerman's albums.

Fair play to him, at least he’s honest about doping especially when everyone was doing it. At that time you had no chance unless you did what the perceived top riders were doing

Jazz players put only seventh chords because 1. it limits the player to use the naturally added upper structures freely (coherent to their playing) 2. keep it simple in an unprepared session, unless it's the melody note so, this is adult chord thing is just a show off nothing more. You have to know theory though
