Agree that players need to be able to put in another gear in the playoffs. And get hotter and better as the season progresses. However if Petey wasn't hot in the beginning of the season would Canucks still have made the playoffs? You have to show up during regular season also.

The Canucks history is: Give the player a BIG raise and then productivity falls drastically. Time to end that cycle, get rid of them, and bring a new guy from the farm in. Start now.

I really think the reason we were able to do what we did this year was because of big D core. We were outshot in a ton of games, but our D could handle the big forwards on Preds and Edmonton. Watching Stars vs Oilers, Hyman and Draisaitl look a lot bigger and tougher to handle in that series. Which is a big nod to our D

The Canucks need to get their roster back to 20 or 21 players with 14 already under contract= a minimum of 3 forwards plus 3 defensemen plus Silovs 26 million including long-term injury

I think you’re wrong about petey.. he’s good for regular season then will disappear come play off time. He doesn’t have the toughness or heart for playoff hockey. Same as the Sedins.

False. He seeks to initiate physical contact in playoffs. Sedins never did. He’ll adjust after this year. Not immediately resting him upon discovering the injury was a catastrophic mistake. Management fail. Shoulda learned from Vegas. Would have had his money to spend on someone else too. Also he’s a vastly superior talent to Henrik. It isn’t even close. The only thing he’s lacking from henrik is his willingness to be top tier cardio.

Alvin and Tocchet like big dmen. Zadorov is worth signing, Cole not worth signing and Hronek is a mistake that Allvin will have to live with. Allvin says that losing was not acceptable, I would think he would be grateful in making the playoffs. If he thinks that this team should have gone further with the players he signed his is not as experienced as everyone claims he is. Hopefully he is not caught up in his own ego and will make some trades and signings that do make this team better.

I'd like to see the Canucks try and keep Lindholm, Joshua and Z if possible. Hronek might be asking for too much, and if I had a choice I'd go with Zadorov. If both D-men are unsignable, I don't think a replacement or two would be hard to find. Dillon makes sense and a bottom six could be filled with what we have in Abby.

Need to keep in mind agents. A player might not mind much, but an agent can’t let too many players take discounts or you’re changing the value of the rest of your clients(if they’re huge stars who can get whatever they want and threaten to change agents, then you let them do as they wish, but not unless you’re a game changer type player).

I really don't understand why a lot of people are pointing to the Sedins teaching Petterson how to be successful. They made it past the 2nd round 1 time in 17 years. -16 and -12 in post-season for Henrik and Daniel with not a lot of points. They were amazing in regular season, but it never happened in the playoffs. Florida over the past 2 years are closing in on equaling the Canucks success over the course of my life... and I'm not young at all 🤣

What bothers me as a former competitive swimmer is the dismissiveness of some fans towards Pettersson having tendonitis. I'd be more than happy to give those fans a case of it if they like. It's terrible. You're not in excruciating pain, but you can't move the way you normally do, and your range of motion is severely hampered. You might not constantly wince, but it's very frustrating when you're trying to exert yourself or move around. Your brain says yes, your body says no. If that affected Pettersson's shot or skating, that makes perfect sense to me. The way he fell awkwardly into the boards after being hit by 2 guys in the Nashville series was a dead giveaway. No wincing, but just very awkward and the balance just wasn't there. Tendonitis can definitely make you feel "off." As for Hronek, I'd move him if he wants 8x8. I'd rather have a cheaper, skilled forward (perhaps with size) for Petey and Hogs and bring back Joshua AND Zadorov. If they can make a deal work with Lindholm, that would be a bonus. I'd also like to see them try to replace Hronek with a guy like Pesce, if possible. He might be a great compliment to Hughes. Myers can still play and if he's the 4-5 D, that could definitely work.

@carletonrutherford1799 Hughes was worse. Tyler Myers was blocking shots and protecting the net. Hughes bitched out, Hughes might puss out next season and start going downhill.
