Thanks Andrew, I'm about to take my first engine (a 4 cyl MG engine) to a machine shop, your tips are well thought out, in my innocence, I was asking about who provides what. I think a conversation with the shop first will be helpful, I'd like to be as prepared as you are. Several folks have recommended new head studs, so maybe I should think about that. My original studs are still in place, I was going to lap the valves myself but how can my machine shop guarantee good compression if some shade tree guy does the head work? I sure wouldn't. Novi 2k at 17 pounds with a decent HCI should have been making well north of 500hp. I would imagine it started t float the valves or some other culprit. Then again I would like to see some ET's as this has a th400 which can read pretty funky on a dyno especially with big drag radials

I have a question about the mounting points for the Chain Guides. I'm currently trying to use the Cloyes Timing Chain Guides. For the Driver side Timing guide are you just using 2 top bolts on the Head? or what mounting points are you using?

You got one bad ass Mustang, Andrew, I watched the videos where you tuned the four valve lightning. I still got a two valve lightning. Of thrown two rods through the block twice I found out that cold air and detonation are not my friends. I know that now but this motor got 175,000 miles on it now and I’m ready to go through it again. I didn’t know if you might be interested in building a of course, two valve 54 lightning motor, but making a turbo? I know you’re the two valve guy though I’m just tired of tearing stuff up. I’m giving this truck to my daughter. She spent 14 years riding back-and-forth and every other weekend going to pick her up anything low and fast she likes. Well, now I see you got a coyote motor
