This was a really nice video! But it just further embedded in me, the thought that my colouring style is that I don't have one. I am chaotic. Every attribute you named I was all over the scale. I could relate to every example you gave. For example, sometimes I stick to one medium on a page, sometimes i use all the media in my studio. Sometimes I can bang out 5 pages in a day, sometimes one page takes me a literal half year. I can colour at any time of day. I can't see anything that really strings its way through the majority of my work. I don't feel like anyone would ever guess my work out of a line up. I'm trying to be okay with that.
@snickerdoodlingllcКүн бұрын
Hmmmmm well I think all of those things ARE your style, Winter! You go with the flow and color what you want, how you want, when you want. And I honestly wish more people could be this way. I think it's too easy to box ourselves in with only certain books, only certain pencils, only certain mediums, etc. If we are too rigid, we'll just get bored an burn out potentially? BUT if you're truly happy, Winter.... that's the key!! Who cares what my attributes are or what others say. I will be the first to stand up an applaud you and say that you are #coloringgoals. They way you described your style...there's so much freedom and expression there. Keep doing you! You can just tell others that "not having a style is your style"! I hope you can find peace with where you're at. In my book, you're Kimazing (dorky, I know. I just made that up!) Thanks for always watching! Hope your Sunday is awesome! 💖💖💖

@@snickerdoodlingllc Thanks so much. It does fit with when I first started this channel last year, I wrote my little bio as something along the lines of "im chaotic". and I guess I didn't know how much that would actually be reflective of my style :D

Hmmm... I think life stages, which are partly emotional influences, likely affect your coloring style. I'm definitely in a bright, bold, glittery rainbow phase! 🌈 I've gravitated to that for other crafty things as well. But that doesn't come out to play during a grieving period very much. Very thought provoking... What is my style? Or am I still developing it? I like mixed media, but I haven't made friends with highlighting and shading... If I've colored a page and like it, I'm afraid to do the extra touches, lol!! 😂 You likely have a new book for Kim-isms. I know I have Karen-isms!! 🤣 It's all good!! 👍 Thanks for helping me think about my style and creating my own unique way! 🥰
@snickerdoodlingllcКүн бұрын
Ha! Maybe that should be my next book: Kim-isms! 😂 You make an excellent point about life stages being a huge player in our style, Karen. Even age, if you think about it. I guess that means my coloring style would be Old Fart Texas Girl with Impatient Coloring Habits. Hmmmmm....maybe a good name for a rock band? 🤣 Hope you have a fantastic Sunday, and thanks for watching, Karen! 💖💖💖

@@snickerdoodlingllc You are so sweet to think of trying to incorporate the pencil I use. Prisma is the pencil I prefer, and use the most. Although I do own all the others Holbein, Polychromos, Caran d'ache Luminance and Pablo, Derwent Lightfast etc......I always go back to the Prisma. Yes they can be a bit of a pain with breakage etc. but I find they just blend so much better, much easier to color with, and the colors are so vivid. In hindsight I could of saved my money and just stuck with the Prisma. Oh well...Live and learn.🥰💖💙💜

Another great thought provoking video Kim! Im listening to each and really thinking about where i fall into the list. For now, my style seems like pencil stroke, atmosphere too; sunshine makes me grab Creative Haven & rainy days makes me grab Halloween/ vampire books...and now thinking about it, the reason i don't color alot of mandalas, is because im also an impatient colorist, but i also get his accomplished feeling when i finish coloring a Mandala. When i just want mindless coloring, i tend to go for the bold and easy books! Thank you for this video ❤❤

Thank you so much, Tanee, for sharing your attributes with me! Mandalas are my first love, and I'm going to do a video very soon on different ways to color them. BUT I am the same way! As always, I'm so very grateful for you stopping by to watch. Enjoy your Sunday, sweet friend! 💖💖💖
