CONCACAF would have better viewership than they did if the games had been broadcasted and marketed better. I spent a lot of money on apps to tunnel around and watch the our qualifiers.

I did not know that they are not doing champions league, you are right, this is a huge missed opportunity. One thought is that Asian and Eastern culture is vastly different to western culture, maybe there is some barrier that we cannot precieve due to cultural differences? I am going to say that I expect big things from Thailand in the World Cup, cant wait to see them matched up with the likes of SpaIn, Portugal, and Brazil!

Thank you for all of your hard work and insights Jake! Sad to see so many issues and mismanagement of our wonderful game at so many levels. We hope opportunities like this continue to grow and become entrenched in the futsal culture here for players to remain in the game as long as they choose.

Great summary of the season. I look forward to see the next steps the league takes. With Drew doing so much, he hasn't been able to respond to people who have tried to help.

The time is NOW! We need all you futsal lovers to come out of the woodwork and speak your peace. Demand more demand better. I for one want better and I want to work with others that want the same thing. I think that if we all come together and pool what we got we can move the needle in the right direction. I think we can save American Futsal from another league casualty. Great work as usual Jake well said and spot on. Keep the great content coming!

We believe finding sponsors for the league and giving money back for the Champions and runners up. Having a cup that can give a larger sum of cash for the league teams that makenit to the final. These are some of our ideas that we believe will be a step in the right direction
@UltimateBlowupАй бұрын
I like the neutral site decision for the championship. It’d be unfair if one of the participating teams got to host the Super Bowl, just to give an example.
@FutsalNewsYTАй бұрын
I think I would agree if there was money behind the league and teams. However right now it just takes an opportunity away from someone to get some money at the door. I also think the crowd in Grand Rapids is typically double what we saw at this match. Last two GR games I went to were standing room only!
@RonLeedyАй бұрын
In the MLS, the Shield winner hosts the Final if they make it to the final. Otherwise, its at a site that is up for bid. If a neutral site was used, one that could provide great broadcast/streaming ability to sell advertising would be preferable. Maybe a G-League (basketball) facility. A cut of the revenue would go to each club. The major chunk to the league office to provide logistic and marketing support.

PFL was not futsal. They wanted to have 4 halves trying to launch their own version of futsal for an American market just like the MLS tried to do with Soccer in the 90s. It didn't work for them and the PFL wouldn't have worked been successful with that either. And they would have had to go back to the original format.
@FutsalNewsYTАй бұрын
It’s amazing how much I’ve learned about the truth behind PFL in the last couple years! I’ll have to do some investigative reporting and do a video on it!

@FutsalNewsYT MASL should convert to Futsal end off. They need to evolve with the times. I read a great Futsal Focus article about it a while ago. I agree 100% indoor needs to adapt or be left behind. Futsal Focus also spoke to American Hall of Famers who said MASL should adapt also. They should listen to the advice given.

@FutsalNewsYT Futsal Focus said they should be called MAFL and imagine if MASL franchises moved away from agreements with NHL clubs and moved to agreement with NBA G League teams which play in smaller arenas than NBA clubs.
@RonLeedyАй бұрын
Great summary. I was fortunate to catch a lot of the games. The IP I accessed was probably not approved. CONCACAF needs to bring the same energy that was at AFCON. But I don't think they belief enough in the sport to give it any budget. That won't happen until we can get some professional leagues. Here in the US, NAPFL and Super Liga are wannabees. Neither are serious enough to create the proper organization nor marketing to drive revenue into the league and teams.

Yo. 100%! I stand in complete agreement with what you said. I for one love futsal and hate the politics involved. I have seen too many first hand accounts of the US soccer/futsal system failing. US should have nothing to do with MASL. There is no World Cup for indoor! And no! Indoor is not the same as futsal! (See recent CONCACAF tournament) this is a call to all the powers that be that claim to support futsal, step up and show your support! Let’s build futsal together!

For the amount of money the teams are putting in, the league is not enforcing a level of standards of the facilities or officiating. Many teams are providing excellent facilities but others are using fields that are less than minimum size and are unsafe for players. Also, there is no evaluations of the performance of the referees. The pool is not properly selected. The league admins need to be more engaged on a weekly basis. It won’t last many more years until the commissioner takes charge of things.

Thanks for informing us about the FFF. I wish we could get a single track for Futsal. But like the outdoor with the alphabet leagues, we have multiple leagues competing to be “The Futsal league”. US soccer is taking a hands off mentality. We can’t even get decent educational material for Referees.

We agree the league is doing a good job with what is available. The problem is that clubs have to be well organized, financially, and structured like a business. Here in Arizona, we manage to find solutions to this problem. We have a wealth of knowledge on how clubs should run. We are not perfect but work to improve the club, invest in knowledge and acquiring the correct personal for our project. A lot teams/owners are not as professional and organized as they could be, and it fails. They can't or don't know how to make it sustainable. It is true that there are some setbacks but overall positive as the league has expended and staying in the Southwest. The two regions competing against each other that will be a another great step this year.

I can only speculate that the only reason that FCS doesn't charge for entry is because the club that runs the league, Lansing City Futsal is the only club that stands to profit and/or break even from this, and therefore foots the whole cost of that league. That isn't the case in the NFPL. It's completely unreasonable for there to be a bona fide league with no league dues. There are plenty of expenses in running a league and plenty of savings to be had if a league's teams pool resources together. It's perfectly normal for leagues at this level to charge dues of some kind. However, those dues have to be reasonable, the clubs have to know where that money is going, and they have to have some say in how the league is run. Otherwise, well... What could have been...
@FutsalNewsYT6 ай бұрын
I agree with you Brian! From what I’m hearing in the back rooms, the ROI on the league dues wasn’t there
