I thought the cars would be stuff from the French colonial era, some American and Eastern European stuff and later Japanese cars. Can you build something like a hot rod, Lowrider or kit car in Cambodia and the government would recognise it as street legal? Say, a 1940 Ford coupe with a Chrysler Hemi or BMW small block.

When I first arrived in Cambodia in 1994, Pol Pot was still fighting on the border with Thailand, and you just didn't know where they would start. When I left two years later , things were really moving forward, but to see this now is just outstanding. I must go back to take a look.

Cambodia Airport Investment, a joint venture 90 percent owned by Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC), one of the country's largest real estate developers, and 10 percent by the government's State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, plans to invest the $1.5 billion to construct the new airport. The OCIC will invest US$280 million, while unspecified "foreign banks" will provide US$1.1 billion in funding. The OCIC will own 90 per cent of the shares in the completed airport, with the rest going to the SSCA While the construction plans are still in the early stages of development, the 4F class airport will be capable of handling large long-haul aircraft and will reportedly cover an area of around 2,600 hectares, which would make it one of the largest airports in the world.

If Phnom Penh have proper sidewalk and proper parking space the city will look a lot nicer and modernized. But there are no laws or enforcement and cars parks all over the sidewalk and curb everywhere which makes the city look very unorganized and ugly. They need to take care of that.

I heard they start modernize the city but creating parking space and sidewalk within few roads first as sample for the whole city this year.
