First and foremost, I am sooo sorry about youre baby! Things have been so hard and sad for you for a while now. As hard as it is we need to keep all.the loving and happy memories in our heart. Love the Bavarian village ruins. I can picture stained glass windows in those arches! I bet Germany is very expensive it always has been. Then the huge finale!!! Holy cow!!!! Those waterfalls in Switzerlans were out of this world! Wow!!! 42€ for 1 hr parking? That was a spectacular end! Alison, you need to recover from your cold! 😢 crazy temps to be touristing 🙊🙈 i admire you for that. Soup perfect for a cold day-looked good! Stay safe in your travels 🙏

Thanks Elaine. The world is just that little bit darker without him. I hand reared Mahpiya from birth and he slept on my pillow or in my arms every night. I'm hoping that I soon get used to him not taking up all the bed anymore. Germany was lovely. Really clean and actually not as expensive as we thought. The power of the water at the Rhine Falls was like nothing we've ever seen before. Next week's video ticks off the first Bucket list venue for us, so stick with us. Much love.😘💜🤟

@findingxanadulif It will take a while but I understand our two king Charles slept with us since born and when they both died in Panama a few months apart it was horrible. It did take a while and then our golden retriever died a few months after and it was like many 18 wheelers had run over us for a long time. You mourn them as you would a human. Well, at least i think so. That's just us. Our current mini schnauzer is 10, no idea what we'll go through when she goes. The Rhine Falls were amazing. We have not been to Victoria Falls or other famous ones. We've been to Niagara Falls on Canadian side. Much better than US side 🤷♀️ no idea why that is. We took boat that goes right up to them. It was impressive, not sure if speed was like the Rhine. We want to travel tgrough africa and probably catch some there. Want a safari. So.much on bucket list.

Hey guys, oh my, we're so sorry to hear about Mahpiya 😢 What a beautiful cat he was, he looked like the absolute king of everything, in photos and in real life. You've really had it tough lately and I'm glad you're on your way to brighter adventures, where your babies will always be with you in spirit ❤️ Hopefully the new sights and experiences will help you heal along the way. In regards to where you did go this week, aah we went to Allerheiligen too and loved it, albeit under entirely different weather circumstances! We did a circular route that took us high up through the forest with immense views on the way back, but with all that and waterfalls and ruins, it had a lot going for it. Parking in Germany is interesting. We of course find it easier being smaller, but while it's better than the UK, it's considerably harder than France/Spain. Definitely doable though and if you return you will find spots here and there, just not so many as elsewhere. Those falls at the end! Unbelievable, not as unbelievable as that parking price 😂 No wonder you hot-footed it out of there. Safe travels guys, and may it be said what a perfect tribute to Mahpiya we thought that was at the end ❤ Beautiful. Condolences to you both and much love on your travels ❤🤟

Hey Elaine, Sorry, I do have a very sweet tooth. 🤣 This time it was a sponge type cake, with apple, apricot and raspberry. The juice from the fruit had made the sponge really squishy and gooey and lush. 😍 Google said that Montreuil-Bellay was one of the smaller chateau, yes. I would have happily moved in, who needs anything bigger...?!? 🤣 Bart is a fabulous doggo, he loves adventuring. 😍🐕🐾 Glad you enjoyed the video. Much love. 😘💜🤟

@findingxanadulife i also have a very sweet tooth. Surely there's enough room for me to move in with you and live in a wing and offer my husband the chef to cook for us and I can bake goodies! Lol Did you comment on the fact that in Spain you can't find or is not as customary to find places for snacks or pastry places as in France? I think France is known for pastries in reality. Maybe they are not into that stuff in Spain as much. You would know, you've been all over that country. Interesting!
@findingxanadulife7 күн бұрын
@elainebramson7042 You guys will have to have a trailer and we will have to upgrade Perse to 4.5t 😍🤣🤣 Yes, Spanish are not great for snack type items. No quiche, sausage rolls or really fattening cakes. Mostly tuna, tomato or spinach with cheese . 🤷🏼♀️💜🤟

If I could I'd send you some "kuchen" a German type of thing for tea time. You MUST have tea. I have for years. My husband is from Chile and they ALWAYS have tea time. To s if Germans, BRITS, French, Italians there. We were members of the British country club. But we had a full.spread with tablecloths poorly for tea. I haveva couple of tea sets and love making tea and munching away. The kuchen is popular there, very easy to make. It's about 1 inch thick and on top i prefer to put peaches cause is moist. But another favorite is apples (all sliced thinly) with a light sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Im sure there are other things you can put on top. Just finished one but ill send you a picture of next one. And sure we will get a camper!

We've never been to a chateau either (something I stupidly only realised translates as "castle" only recently 🙈) but that was a splendid chateau if ever a chateau was. Who doesn't want a stone spiral staircase to descend gracefully in the middle of the night to raid the entirely modern fridge 😍 I wouldn't worry about upkeep either, it's the sort of place that would look even better with added cobwebs and peeling walls. That artwork though 😂 French prices for attractions are very much like the UK's so I think you're right that 12 euros is probably on the more reasonable side compared to usual, though it's still a lot. We are cherishing our time in Spain for all the reasons you said before we get back to the UK to be charged £15 to look around a derelict B&Q or something. French cakes are something else, and yes it does seem harder to find Spanish snacky type things. Obviously, you're back over here now, and I'm glad it all went okay in the UK. It must be a relief for you Alison. Looking forward to whatever Europe has in store next. Much love, take care ❤🤟
@findingxanadulife7 күн бұрын
To me (Alison) a french chateau (said in Allo, Allo accent) always looks so much more stately than a normal castle. We had visited palaces in France, but not a normal chateau. To be fair, they seem to call a large manor house a chateau too, makes it sound much more grand. 🤣 Darren did find an absolute blinder with this one though. My favourite part was the stone tower in the garden, that didn't make the video cut, but I did take a photo of and put it on insta. The artwork was interesting to say the least. 😳🤣 We're looking forward to getting into Eastern Europe to try their prices for castles, although I know Bran castle, that I want to visit will be stupid money if we go at Halloween, which I would love. 🧛♀️ It was a relief to have dealt with the funeral and be able to spend some time with family, blissfully unaware of the third smack in the face that was too come. They say that bad stuff comes in 3's, so we HAVE to be done now. Much love guys, enjoy the sun. 😘💜🤟
@comealongdear2 күн бұрын
@findingxanadulife Castle as a literal translation really doesn't quite fit does it! Chateaus look very different, clearly more stately home-like. Bran Castle, oh now wouldn't be something on Halloween! But any time would be fab. We'll be very interested to see the prices of things as you get into Eastern Europe and beyond. I'm sorry that something else has happened as well, jesus that's a rotten run of luck 😟 I hope it's nothing on the scale of the last 2? Love to you both and keep on going, so many great times ahead for you both ❤️ Much love ❤️🤟

I'm hoping by the time we get to Romania (Transylvania) that Poenari Citadel where the real Vlad the Impaler lived, will have finished its refurbishments and we can visit. Bran castle would cost around €400 to join the buffet and party inside the courtyard (Only 100 tickets) There is a cheaper version for lesser mortals who only want to party in the marquee...🤷🏼♀️🤣 For me, this was the toughest one yet (bizarre to be worse than losing my own father). Mahpiya always demanded constant attention and slept on my pillow, round my head or snoring in my face for over a third of my life. Life will never be the same. He was the other love of my life. 🤷🏼♀️ But baby steps will see us right. 😘🤟💜

Alison is exactly the same as me (Dan) when it comes to wandering around towns and insisting we go down every side alley to nowhere to investigate, much to Stephen's "delight" 🤐 Except I'm the one filming so I'm just making life ten times harder for myself 😂 We've never tried Armagnac but for good or bad, quite sold on the idea after this video! Maybe it was the swishing in the glass and mouths that made it seem special and luxurious, but I want some now 😂 French restaurant prices are certainly something, that's just nuts. We had a menu of the day in Spain in a cafe last week, 3 courses and a drink for 13 euros each. In France that would barely get you the starter! Anyway safe travels, take care guys. Dan & Steve ❤🤟
@findingxanadulife7 күн бұрын
I just can't help it Dan..! I hate getting back to Perse and checking Google, to find that we didn't see something truly spectacular. Even though a lot of it doesn't make the final cut. 🤷🏼♀️🤣 I've had normal brandy and Cognac before, but Armagnac was totally of the scale. The fire that it set off in your mouth was like you'd eaten a really hot chilli pepper and then the next time nothing. It was really bizarre. We would say that you could try some next time we meet up, as we bought some, but we decided that we probably wouldn't drink it, so we gave it to some good friends back in the UK. So far, other than Portugal, everywhere we have been is substantially more expensive than Spain for restaurant food. 😢 Hope you guys are enjoying Spain and bypassing the gota frías. 🤞 Wishing you safe and cheap travelling.. 😘💜🤟

@findingxanadulife Yes the same here, we don't use or film everything we see, but that doesn't mean I don't want to see it, I need every alleyway and little nook along with all the bigger stuff. Weather has been changing every day here but hey, its still better than the UK! Safe travels 🥰❤️🤟

@comealongdear8 күн бұрын
I had to look this up, and apparently Tolkien used to have a holiday home there and the surrounding area inspired some places in LOTR, including the Shire. That seems...random and questionable, given I can't imagine it looks THAT much like The Shire there 🤔 The chateau sort of looks like a building from the story, but then many castles etc do. However...another website states that none of this is true but doesn't say why, so who knows! There's barely any info I could find, but I swear every story about Tolkien and a random location that we've seen has always been based on not much at all, its bizarre. If only Gandalf was here, he might know 🧙♂️
@findingxanadulife7 күн бұрын
@comealongdear Haha I'm sure these places have one person mention a likeness, then they jump on it and invent a load of tosh to try to make themselves sound more interesting. 🤷🏼♀️ Montreuil-Bellay shouldn't have bothered. The place was lovely enough in itself. Proof people, if you claim these things, we need to see proof. 🤣 We're sure Gandalf would be far too busy, off on a grand adventure somewhere, fighting Uruk-hai and Balrogs. 🤪💜🤟

As a Romanian, my heart melted at the interaction you had with the Romanian musician on the street. A simple interaction, just acknowledging each other by the names but however full of emotion and characteristic to the Latin spirit that the Romanian and Spanish people share. Nice video, I send you good vibes! :)

Thank you so much for your kind words. We love interacting with locals wherever we go, especially those that look 'out of place' from the surroundings. Romania is an underrated gem and I swear I don't say this just because I'm Romanian. I've been to plenty of places myself but I am always mesmerized by the raw beauty, nature and unaltered spirit of the people that you meet along the way (especially in more rural areas). I'll leave some of my recommendations below. Since you come from that side of the world I presume your first stop will be Bucharest, but feel free to adjust accordingly. - Bucharest, capital of Romania, vibrant city where you'll see a lot the clash between communist, neo-classical and also modern architecture (very interesting!). Also the Palace of Parliament - the second heaviest building in the world (after the Pentagon in the US). The Old Town is charming. I would also include a visit to Ceaușescu house (museum now), to learn more about how communism shaped Romania culture across decades. - Transylvania (a must!) - the cities of Brașov - medieval town known for its well-preserved architecture, beautiful squares, and cozy cafes. From here, you can explore Bran Castle (the famous “Dracula’s Castle”), Sighișoara (UNESCO world heritage site, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, one of the only well preserved medieval towns in Europe), Sibiu (Germanic architecture and influence, less crowded and among the prettiest cities in Romania), Cluj-Napoca (my city haha, second biggest in Romania, up and coming tech and business hub, considered the "capital" of Transylvania, modern and more westernized - would be interesting to see the contrast with other Romanian cities). - Carpathian Mountains : don't miss the Transfăgărășan road, considered by that famous British car show -which name I forget now - the best road to drive in the world! - Maramureș region : This northern region offers an authentic look into Romania’s traditional lifestyle. With its wooden churches (many UNESCO-protected), locals in traditional dress, and horse-drawn carts, it feels like stepping back in time. The Mocănița steam train in Viseu de Sus is an unforgettable way to experience the area. - the Danube Delta - a biosphere paradise with unique flora and fauna. UNESCO world site as well. - food!! Traditional food like "sarmale", "mici", the România cuisine is heavily influenced by balkan and even Turkish cuisine, and in the north by German and Hungarian cuisine. Just prepare your bellies! Also wine tasting in wineries across country. We do make pretty damn good wine but never leave the country without tasting our traditional drink "palinca", a homemade brandy usually made from plums or apples (depending on the region) - guaranteed to make you want to stay a bit more in Romania than expected, haha! Enjoy! ❤

@happyhourgeezer Wow..! Thank-you so much...! Some great recommendations there. Some we already had on our list, others that we didn't. We love the smaller towns, rather than the big cities and love to be able to see the traditions and culture of a country. I've (Alison) already spotted some archaeological sites in the Danube Delta that would be great to check out. I've always been obsessed with Dracula, since I was quite young, so although Bran Castle will be worth a visit, I'm hoping that Poenari Citadel will have finished it's renovations by the time we get there, so that I can see Vlad's actual castle. If you think of any other places to suggest, let us know. Many thanks and much love 💜🤟🇷🇴
@happyhourgeezer11 күн бұрын
@@findingxanadulife I'm also thinking about Peles Castle, it's really beautiful! Also the castle of Hunedoara has a very medieval feel to it and it's quite interesting. For archaeology I would definitely recommend the Sarmisegetuza Regia ruins, it's a place surrounded by plenty of stories and spiritual importance for the beginnings of what we know today as Romania. Notable smaller towns at least worth a day trip would be: Timisoara, Oradea, Baia Mare, Targu Mures. I can't wait for the episode to come out! Love, Alexandra

@happyhourgeezer Fabulous Alexandra. Thank-you so much. I've added more places to our list and specific places within the areas that you have suggested. Bear with us though, it will be quite a few months before we get there. We have many other countries to visit first. 😍 Thank-you so much for your comments. Much love 😘💜🤟

Oh what sights you have to show us! Some really fabulous spots, and so varied. We haven't explored any of the pyrenees, so this might give us some ideas if we pass that way. That castle was phenomenal - well worth the asking price. Really loved the rock formations too. I hope you're recovered from your cold now Alison, it's just not fun at all when you're travelling is it, trying to film and explore places while feeling run down ❤ Take care guys, much love ❤️ 🤟

Hey guys..! The Pyrénées are stunning to say the least. It seems that there are several lots of rock formations similar, all round the world. I'm sure I saw another on the map, here in Austria, but I might have imagined it. 🤷🏼♀️ We really fell in love with the Loarre castle. How could we not..?!? My (Alison) cold cleared for a few days and then when we left the UK, we both went straight down with another. 🤦🏼♀️ Most likely germs picked up at Dad's funeral. Everyone was coughing and spluttering well. Darren is suffering worse than I am right now, but we now have a beautiful smattering of snow in the Austrian Alps, to inspire us. 😍 Hope you guys are enjoying your warmth of Spain..! Much love and safe travels. 😘💜🤟

@findingxanadulife oh lord, well that's what happens when you're travelling away together and then have to mix with other people, I think we suddenly lose any immunity we might have had 😂 Sorry to hear it though, but I guess it seems "correct" to have a rotten cold when surrounded by snow and mountains, perhaps even a little...festive, even (okay, too early for that!). We've found mixed temperatures here but are now driving now south, currently in Ciudad Rodrigo (which is a beauty) and things have warmed up now. Well this felt familiar to us, only yesterday we were in Lugo and finding ourselves thwarted by the Spanish closing-in-the-afternoon thing, I think as Brits we'd never get used to it, and equally the idea of shopping at 8 o'clock at night sounds like hell 😂 Zaragoza looks utterly gigantic! I can see how that would be overwhelming, it felt surreal seeing you among all those people. I (Dan) would likely be having a moment on that train too and then need a few moments to readjust after getting off. It looks fantastic though - no way you could pack everything in in one day, you did very well to show us as much as you did. Oh god those croquettes looked divine. Chicken and chocolate has to be tried to be believed I guess, but I think some might argue chocolate could go with anything, a case I'd make for gravy or cheese 😋 The wind though! You'd think you were on a blustery coast the way that looked. We might consider Zaragoza on our way back through if we pass, so thanks for showing some of it off, we had no idea it was so grand. Take care and safe travels 🤟😍
@findingxanadulife12 күн бұрын
We only had a parcel to collect from Lugo, we didn't have time to stop. It's still on our list, without about 8 map pins dropped on it. 🤣 It seems like it may be a European thing in general. We've just had the same thing in Liechtenstein. We tried to get food just after 1pm and struggled. Although it did lead us to a restaurant where Darren had the tastiest meal he's ever had, so it was another happy coincidence from a difficult situation 🤷🏼♀️ Even the local bakery closed from 12.30-2.30pm...🤔 Anywhoozle, Zaragoza was beautiful. So many places that we didn't have time to see. You would really need a good couple of days to see the majority, but it's well worth stopping. Now that Stephen is on his running regime, maybe you could avoid the tram drama and walk it instead..? As for the croquettes, they were very scrumptious indeed. Apparently it has to be bitter dark chocolate to use in food and I'm open to trying more recipes, other than the local Zaragoza dish, from a nearby tapa Restaurant that does cheese on toast, topped with Anchovies and then dark chocolate chips .. I'm so glad that we didn't spot that one, as I really don't like Anchovies. 🤣 That would be one step too weird for me. 🤢 Hope you find some other weird food to try for us. Happy and safe traveling 😘🥰💜🤟
@comealongdear9 күн бұрын
@findingxanadulife no weird food yet but we'll keep an eye out! I think I'd draw the line at anchovies and chocolate, and I love them. That's just a diabolical combo, surely 😂 Yes if its not a million miles we could walk into Zaragoza, we'll see where the path takes us on our return. I didn't expect other countries to be like that with the opening hours, certainly not Liechtenstein, but thinking about it France is often like that too. Looking forward to finding out what made up this tasty meal though 😍 Much love to you both ❤️ 🤟

Hi Elaine..! I got over my cold, drinking Lemon and ginger tea, with a spoonful of honey, but also having a nip of my dad's Drambuie before bed. Thank-you Towah. We just love seeing beautiful places and we do try our best not to be gloomy. Even when life kicks us whilst we're down. *Spoiler alert* Yesterday, we visited the most spectacular place we have been since leaving the UK in 2018, but you will have to wait for another couple of weeks to see that. 🤭Thanks for your constant support. It's very much appreciated. Much love 😘🥰💜🤟

Well, I think it's safe to say Albarracín is justified with a "stunning" or ten 😍 Can see exactly why you fell in love with it - sometimes those "unfinished", rough around the edges buildings have more charm than any well-painted facade. I guess that's why the parking was relatively expensive for Spain too, but damn that was worth it. I did love that aqueduct walk too. I (Dan) am with Darren on finding the tunnels fine and heights a lot worse to deal with. We've all got something! Bart seemed to be full of energy and enjoying the day out too ❤ Now we are finally in Spain and grabbed a sim so data isn't (as much) of an issue, some catching up on vids can be done 😁 Currently in Bakio after seeing Gaztelugaxeke today - oh my word, that one was worth the steep trek for sure. Anyway take care guys, much love to you ❤🤟

Wow guys! Glad you are back safe! Loved the castle! Not fixed up just as is. Fabulous, amazing! Oh the rivers .... remind me of the ones in the Panama forests! I am.axwstwr person so i love to watch and listen to water, very calming. Loved the rock formations as well. You'd never know about these things I think unless you research or word of mouth! Allison I don't know how you find all.of these gems but you are a pro! 👏 I am.glad you did not get caught in the horrific storm that reaked havoc in southern coast, especially Valencia. That storm moved on to France and caused much flooding as well in Paris. Hwys still blocked in Valencia area A7 and others. No train, nothing. Hundreds and hundreds have taken to the streets with shovels to help. 2hr wait in lines for bread, milk, water. It's devastating! I finally found you in Polar Steps by searching Xanadu vs your names. So you need to go and accept me? Not sure how that goes. I'll have to figure out how to set myself up for our next trip. Learning as you go .... Love these amazing little villages that you are going through one never can experience such beauty and simpleness from main hwy! Stay safe and til next time!

Good morning Elaine..! We are currently now back in France, arrived yesterday. We've been keeping a close eye on what has been happening in the Valencia area and making sure that our village and friends are all ok. Not that we could do much. Potries was on a red alert for today, but thankfully it has been dropped to orange overnight. We still don't seem to have a request to follow on Polarsteps. Here is the link to our profile. I don't know why I didn't think to do this sooner. Darren has use of our communal brain cell right now. 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ Follow me and my travels on Polarsteps www.polarsteps.com/FindingXANADUlife We also adore water. Anytime we can get to park near it, we do. Blissful sounds. We loved all the places that we visited in this week's video. We were very spoiled. Much love 😘💜🤟

@findingxanadulife thank you for the link. I re-requested. Hmmmm sorry to bother you with this. Read and trains not running in Valencia. Folks told not to drive. Not sure if airport is operational again. Might not due to access via roads. You might know since you know the roads A7. Many, well, hundreds have gone from Malaga to help and are taking some badic essentials. 200+ dead and 1,900 still missing. They are still trying to move cars from all over even middle of hwys that have grass as divider. Pictures are horrible. Soooo sad! It will be a long time before things normalize in that beautiful area. I have everyone there in my prayers as I will have your friend and as I have you for safe travels in this adventure you've undertaken. Keep being the one that finds amazing and unusual places. It would be so awesome to do what you guys are doing. Im the the adventurous one, drove husband crazy in the Panama forest. I would just stop the car on the side of the road and walk in never thinking if venomous snakes and other interesting not so good creatures. And no cell phone to call for help 🙊🙈 what was i thinking. I climbed the 3rd highest mountain 5 times. That was crazy if you knew the terrain. My husband just said "you go ill be waiting with a glass of wine" 😂

We've got it right this time. We've accepted your Polarsteps follow request. The mess in Valencia is awful. The worst gota fria for 30years. Last time it was the Alicante airport that was flooded and the surrounding area. Luckily the red warning for today was downgraded to orange. Gotta Friday happen regularly each year and Spain is well geared to cope with them normally, but when you get excessive amounts of rain, it needs somewhere to go and sometimes the channels just can't cope. It's so sad. They hit so fast that you just can't get out of their way. 😢💜🤟
@elainebramson704220 күн бұрын
@findingxanadulife thanks for the accept. So when things like this happens, so devastating, govt does nothing to help? People are on their own. I saw another video today and there is just no food. I imagine due to roads being impassable distributors cannot arrive. Im not used to that system. I guess this prime minister has been there since 2018 and people are condemning him putting it mildly about his lack of help and reaction. That's not good! Safe travels. I will go to the other app and figure out how it works. How exciting!

We don't know about the current man in charge., except from what we have seen on social media. When there have been problems previously, help is sent as soon as it can be, but the Spanish people have always helped each other. A group of youngsters from our village went to help clear up. It will take a long time. Normally they set up emergency hello stations, but if the people cannot get there, they will have an issue for sure. It's so sad. 💜🤟

No, that's not the Palace of Aragon, it's Palacio de la Aljafería, an Arab Palace, built for Muslim monarchs. Looks like you often are out and about at lunch time, no wonder everything's closed. Take a proper 3 course lunch instead of killing time on a bench with a snack. And a traditional dish is partridge with chocolate sauce, which was the inspiration for those tapas. Of course it's bitter black chocolate, don't use your regular Milky Way for that.
@findingxanadulife28 күн бұрын
Hi..! Thanks for the clarification about the palace. We often get our words wrong. We were probably trying to say about the palace now being used by the Aragonese Government and messed it up. 🤣 I (Alison) have a chronic health condition (I don't normally mention it) which means that I often struggle in the mornings. It's been harder recently with the emotional overload and we were trying to get ahead with the videos, so that we didn't have to record anything whilst in the UK with family. Normally we would try to plan a visit around the time that things are open, correct day, evening if necessary etc, but as we were on a timescale and the weather the following day was pants, we moved on. We're also on a financial budget. We try to eat out on our filming days, but if it's at the end of the month, finances don't always allow it. We do sometimes take advantage of the menu del dias, but we think a snack is better than nothing, when we want to try the local food. Although we now know that the Baklava in Aicha's bakery was from Algeria and not Turkey as we had thought. Neither of us have ever tried Partridge, we will try and find it on a menu somewhere when we get back into Aragon. Thank-you so much for your comment, we love it when people correct our mistakes and try to steer us in the right direction. Sorry for the "War and Peace" answer. 😁 Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟

It´s kind of sad that you missed so many places, speaking as someone who lived in Zaragoza for many years. For example, the Aquarium (biggest fluvial aquarium in all of Spain), the Origami Museum (the only Origami museum in all of Europe), the Expo area (filled with extraordinary modern buldings, including the Pabellon Puente, which is an architectonial marvel made by the famous Zaha Hadid), the Museo del Fuego y de los Bomberos (extraordinary place if you want to see how firemen used to deal with fire, back in the day), or simply a stroll through the Parque Grande (Zaragoza´s Retiro), or even Puerto Venecia, which might not be your cup of tea, but it´s considered to be the biggest mall in all of Spain, and where thousands upon thousands flock every year, from different provinces. Gastronomy not included... Anyway, I guess it´s the problem with uploading videos after you go to certain places: it´s impossible to recommend you anything... Best!
@findingxanadulife29 күн бұрын
Because we were heading back to the UK for my dad's funeral, we were restricted on time and money. The weather wasn't favourable the second day, so we decided to move on, but we do intend to go back. We did enjoy our visit, but ideally we needed at least 4 days to see everything we had wanted to. Yes, needing time to edit the videos makes it difficult in that respect. Thanks so much for your comment, we will bookmark those places for next time. Much love 💜🤟

@@findingxanadulife No worries guys, I do understand times were pressing. I just meant to say that as a Spaniard who subscribes to multiple channels about foreigners visiting Spain, I usually feel disappointed about how much is left behind, particularly in the big cities I know quite well. Anyway, hope you´re doing better these days... :) P.S. If you thought chicken with chocolate was weird, Casa Dalmau, which was literally 20m away from you were, it´s one of the most famous wineries in the city, and they offer you Anchoas en Salmuera con chocolate, which is basically salty anchovies with dark chocolate on top. Peculiar combination, which actually worked for me... :D Best!

@1650million We don't often visit large places, unless we can have multiple days to cover enough, but we have often had to leave things that we have wanted to visit, until a second visit. I'm glad you had fun! I was also surprised you liked the city since it's more "peoply" than most of the places you tend to visit. We went this past May and really enjoyed our time. I couldn't believe the number of motorhomes you showed there, but seeing how close it was to get into the city by tram, it's pretty impressive. When we visited in May, we stayed at a hotel right near the market. We had similar croquetas at the Taverna Doña Casta, and the mushrooms at El Champi (right next to it; I don't like mushrooms, but I liked those). You also passed the Bodega Almau who has a terrific anchovy/chocolate tapa. We stated for 3-4 nights, so we had the chance to visit much more of the city. I'm guessing you visited the main square (with the two massive cathedrals) on October 12th - this was the "National Spain Day" where most cities have military parades. Have fun!
@findingxanadulifeАй бұрын
We were in Zaragoza on October 3rd. It was something to do with the Fiesta del Pilar, but we couldn't tell exactly what it was. So glad we didn't find Bodega Almau, as neither of us really like Anchovies to start with. 🤣 We had intended to spend a second day in Zaragoza, but couldn't cope with that many people 2 days running and the weather wasn't great the second day. There was so much more to see though. I'm sure we'll go back at some point. Thanks so much for the comment. Much love 💜🤟
