Hey! First off, sending love from Scotland! I found your channel as I was looking for Garbage Pail Kids content. I’m 45 and my pal wanted me to start collecting pokemon cards as he’s a collector. So I have done but my heart lies with GPK for pure nostalgia! All the best buddy 👍🏻

@@NotoriousMnstr the 9s sometime sell for less than grading fees so I'd recommend only sending cards you think have a shot at a 10

You probably didn't remove the gum residue from the cards. 20% of 3rd series cards were at the top of the pack and have gum residue that's hard to see with the naked eye. You need to look at the surface with a light reflection to see it. You need to remove it carefully or you'll probably score no better than 6. Otherwise the score could be from surface dents that aren't visible until you shine light on the surface. Or bad focus, many garbage pail kids printed slightly out of focus which hurts the grade.

My 3rd series cards came from cello packs (no gum). But, you are right it is probably still surface issue and print defects like focus

Yes, you need to look at the surface very carefully with a relection on the card. Even a slight bend or ding can dramatically lower the score. Youll never see 3d damage just looking straight on. Always do a front and back surface check prior to submitting the card for grading. Cards can get damaged in the packs.@thesandiegoupcycler2586

That Skenes auto out of 199 should be worth a few grand alone. Throw in that dual auto with Adley and Jackson!! That definitely should be a few grand as well.

I wish, sold comps are around $400. As for the dual, Holliday needs to breakout next year and that sky is the limit for a card that rare

I like ‘24 Update better than Chrome Update. Having 3 levels of Yellow in hangers and 7 Halloween parallels for blasters - 4 of which are numbered - not to mention Gold /2024 and all the other stuff at a fairer price than Chrome Update

Haven't done any Chrome Update yet but may get some soon once the box prices come back down to earth. As for the parallels, I LOVE the gold foils from the jumbos and prefer them over the regular golds #/year

Topps front loads the initial release print with better autos and parallels so the hype builds. Subsequent restock/waives of this product will likely have far fewer worthwhile hits per pack/box.

Stratospheric Star values are odd, given how tough they are. Then, more bafflingly, Topps decided to make them much more common in Update Chrome. Congrats on the Skenes stack. I also would prefer a stack of Merrill parallels, but long term; for short term, Skenes works better for selling. What an insane case!

Wow, you are right. Went from 1:248 in a Jumbo to 1:24 in chrome... I actually liked that card so much and thought it was so undervalued I found the rest of them on auctions and now have the whole set of 10 cards. I LOVE rare and nice looking inserts that don't have a bunch of parallels

Some of the cards descriptions are different, like the Snooty Sam card states $sticker/teacher back" l, the Well Done Sheldon states "sticker w/ copyright", & the Joe Blow states "Barber back".. . wonder if that's makes it worth more

I came here just to see how centering is evaluated. Then I see the Simba at 3:15 as a 10 with terrible centering. Yeah, grading is a scam.

The left border of the inner slab that holds the card in place was slightly blocking the view of the left side of the card and made it look much worse than it actually is

If it is ultramodern and you really feel strongly that it could/should be a 10, then yes. If you dig back through my old videos I've done some experiments cracking and resending PSA cards and found that a decent percentage of resubs get bumped to a 10 (I even cracked a 6 and got back a 10 once)

The secondary market for selling graded cards just keep going further and further towards PSA. If you want to sell a card you kind of have to send to PSA, which sucks

I don't understand y the consumer takes the loss....to ke they should remove whatever cards that didn't make it when product releases off the checklist or wait and put pressure on the players and their contracts to fulfill. Cards are at a premium already and then projected checklists isn't even complete and sometimes it's the chase players that drive the product up already .

Non sports cards are usually on special with PSA so they are around $14-$16 per card (plus shipping)
