Hey, I found this channel just looking for k-pop tutorials. Thank you for videos! And this track sounds a little bit like tango, really liked it. I think it must be because of rhythm

Never heard nor even aware of ting ting, and I have heard loads of music over the years. Still, this song hit me like a truck and instantly recognized Mickey, which they rightly credited, and several vaguely familiar riffs. No, those have been in loads of songs and not creditable to any single artist, but brilliantly employed here. Well done, Rose and Bruno!

This shows you need only a simple background with good visual effects of course but it's all about the music, beat and vibes

It's the The Ting Tings, meets 80s and a lot of earlier decades no one knows anymore where it started I've legit everything from 1920s-1980s..with a shoutout to Korean culture and Blackpink, obviously.

Bruno not only co-produced the song, but also co-directed the video. He really seems to have cared about doing right by Rose. Check the song credits. The "Hey Mickey" songwriters are credited. It's not clear if it started out that way (probably when Bruno did his revisions to what was sent to him) or if they were credited later when they realized how close it sounded, but it's always great to see someone do the right thing.

Ohhhh I know it references something from the 80s or 90s but i don’t know what songs specifically. It’s nice to know now when you mention the Mickey song.

i didnt expect rose to come up with the best solo song out of all the bp girls! the other girls did really well too, very high production value but this songs just so enjoyable and sort of nostalgic, and it has a korean flair with the game and all, so extra points. very well made.

The first thing that I liked about this song was that Rosie deviated far from the expected Blackpink sound. Whether that was a conscious decision on her part or not, I don't know but I thought it was a great choice. When I first listened to it, before I learned from the comment section of the original MV that "apateu" is a Korean drinking game, I thought the first few lines before the first chorus was "meh." I was still on the fence until the bridge because I thought it had a lot of the spirit, melody-wise, of "Locked out of Heaven." I don't know if I thought that because Bruno Mars was on it. My overall opinion changed though when I discovered the origin of "apateu." Her making a song based on a drinking game was clever and fun. It would be even better if one does sing "apateu" with the same beat used in this song when you play the game. Imagine taking a song from a game and making a smash hit with it. That would be so cool. I loved that the intensity of the song continued to build up right to the end - a crescendo that did not go down. As you pointed out, there were fewer instruments during the first chorus, more during the second, and then the additional background vocals on the third, etc. Very catchy; it stays in your brain; and a fun song to vibe to.
