just run it on a VM, I have looked though it in the passed and though the code, and the main thing is there are crypto related files. but it aslo has remote URLs (meaning that it has the power to later download new files or updates on its own that could be malicious. as a dev my self, i would not personally run it outside of a VM but in thory it seems ok, its a bit of a 50/50. I think a lot of its bad rep comes from kids who press on the AD links that come up on the site that are 90% malicious.
