I would till up every plot you have and plant rye and buckwheat and let it go to seed and let it replant itself for about 2 years so it hopefully kills the weeds.

Any tips of keeping turkeys away from food plots so it can grow
@wisconsinwhitetail9744
@wisconsinwhitetail9744 3 күн бұрын
I’ve never had issues with turkeys in clover or brassica plots. Sometimes they will pull out the corn when it’s little, you can broadcast shelled corn right on top of the ground so they eat the easy exposed corn not the corn growing.

I'm in my 5th year with Kester's Drought mix. It's got clovers, alfalfa, chicory and small burnett. You should try some. Deer are in it all year. Burnett is desirable in the winter.

@wisconsinwhitetail9744 5 күн бұрын
Never heard of Burnett. I’ve had great luck with just clover especially when the natural browse is drying up and soybeans are yellow. Second half of September and first half of October the clover is king. Then they switch to brassicas and grains more when it gets cold in November.

@wisconsinwhitetail9744

Anywhere’s from 75-100lbs. Buckwheat is kinda pricey, you can plant it lighter around 50lbs but then more weeds come in.

I probably could have done something similar but this corn has been in standing water at least 4-5 times this year. Only for a day or 2 as it dries up and I don’t think anything but more dry weather could have snapped it out of being stunted.

It’s probably ok for small sprigs but I’m guessing won’t work on 2-3’ trees. 1:6 Tri3:water works on 2-3’ trees. I’ll try 1:7. It’s too much time lost if you need to respray. Another technique that seems to be working is using 1:4 Tri4:diesel spraying the bottom 6-8” on of the trunk up to 3/4” size. Cuts back on chemical and helps minimize overspray.

Depends on how thick the thatch is. If it’s a lot of grass and not much soil exposure you might not get the best germination. It can turn out. The thicker the thatch and more compacted the ground the slower the growth will be the first month. But it will turn out fine.
