I just took mine completely apart, cutting it up to make a more screen accurate piece and cut the voice changer out. I have a complete separate voice system.

I want to change the microphone on the Kylo Ren helmet. Does anyone have any recommendations with microphone replacement brand and model? I already changed out the speaker and totally redesigned the interior. Appreciate feedback with the microphone.

Randy, I see in the background on your desk what looks to be Kylo Ren costume instructions. You mentioned your costume in another video. May I ask where you got your costume from? I am looking at the XCoser Kylo Ren costume but don't like the scarf/cape. The pattern I see on your desk looks pretty movie accurate, without seeing your actual costume. I'd be interested in seeing your costume, or at least knowing where you purchased yours.

Thanks for the recap and also the tutorial on the helmet. I'm actually modding mine to get it 501st approved. I had to fill the seams on the sides, the battery tray, buttons and also the holes above the front mouth piece. I have to get it resprayed to gloss black and unfortunately, I had to take out the voice chancier since I got rid of the buttons. Anyway, hope you do a video of your whole Kylo Ren costume. Keep up the good work bro!

I think one of the biggest issues is Hasbro believing that Adam Driver's voice was completely "voice-changed" in pitch....it was not, he naturally has a deep voice. And the effect seemed more like Driver's natural voice talking through a slightly distorted compressed megaphone of sorts, rather than it being all robotic like Darth Vader. After seeing the film 4 times now, I believe that the Kylo Ren vocal effect can be achieved with a simple voice-amplifier, and a decent low-rough-voice impersonation. (I'll be able to see if this theory is correct when I get my voice amplifier in). The modulator in this helmet sucks...I think all owners of this helmet can agree on that. I completely ripped the interior electronics out, and will just wind up replacing everything in some form or another.

I'm going to try this out. And I would like to see the cosplay.

Can you possibly do a short tutorial on just fixing the mic some? I heard of using foam pad on it as well that would help. This is the first I'm hearing of the new helmet though

Is this just the regular black series helmet? Same one that's on sale at target for like 80$? I want to try and get one and fix it too, but want to make sure it's the right one.
