So, if I create a passkey in 1Password, then isn’t my passkey behind the same master password/2FA as the rest of my passwords?

It shows how the programmers who made Authenticator are stupid enough to think users don't want to own their own keys.

I found instead of chasing complete anonymity I’ll just be as secure as I possibly can be instead of private.

I am currently locked out of my Amazon account because when i try to log in it asks me for a Passkey instead of allowing me to simply enter my password. If i have a Passkey it is news to me and i have not been able to find what it is to click on it to complete the login. I have been all over Google Security trying to find some way to delete the Passkey without success. I dont know what to do next and i turned off 2FA while i work on solving this problem .My PC has Win10 and doesnt support Win11 upgrade but it works great and i dont plan to replace it until later in mid 2025. Im not stupid about computers, but also not a big techie. I usually manage to "fix" any PC problem i have ...it just takes longer and more trial and error. At this point i dont know what to do to get rid of a Passkey I dont know i have or how i got it. I have a Dell PC, Samsung TabA7 tablet and Apple 2nd gen SE phone. I guess i will just have to keep looking until i stumble into a fix. Your video is probably very helpful to the average sophisticated user. Thanks for the effort.

Unfortunately, they don't offer a credit freeze in Canada. I have put a fraud alert on my credit file requesting that any company call me before approving any credit in my name.

segregated email is hugely important. Have an email for junk and sketchy mailing lists too. Further, you can use pseudonyms on these email accounts so the name corresponding is not your legal name. With data aggregators, you can alter the info by submitting misleading and altered personal details so there is inconsistency in this online profile.

I have been using Surfshark for a year. I didn't notice anything different, except that I was often blocked by certain sites, such as Amazon. All in all it was a bit of a mess. Then I stumbled across Naomi Brockwell's channel and realised that VPN services are no better than Google when it comes to selling your data to other companies. After uninstalling Surfshark from all my devices, I suddenly noticed that my iPad mini's battery life improved dramatically. I switched to Mullvad VPN, but it doesn't work well on iOS devices because there is no split tunneling. In short, I now just use Adguard to block all kinds of trackers and it works pretty well on all my devices. I am not very tech-savvy, but I am concerned about my privacy.

Do not use Windscribe! It totally messed up my network! I have a paid VPN in use on two Win10 desktop computers. I have a new Win11 laptop which is not connected to the paid VPN. That VPN will expire in March and I will not renew, so I decided to try Windscribe's free version on the Win11 laptop. After difficulty, I got Windscribe free installed and activated on the Win11 laptop. Imagine my RAGE when I discovered Windscribe had ruined my network connection to the two Win10 computers! I tried to uninstall it from my laptop with Revouninstaller Pro, only to get the message I had to exit it first. Well, how to "exit" the POS? I had to research that. I found: log in to Windscribe account (I wasn't still logged in?), under Security, delete both Delete Sessions and Delete VPN Creds. I clicked "Delete Sessions, at which time Delete VPN Creds disappeared. I logged in again. Both options were then available, but I clicked only Delete VPN Creds. After all that crap, I was then able to uninstall Windscribe from my laptop with Revouninstaller Pro. The uninstall showed dozens of Windscribe's leftover crap in my laptop's registry, which Revouninstaller also deleted. FYI - I also have an OLD laptop with Ubuntu 22 on it. I installed the Proton free version on it with NO network problems with my Win10 computers.

Stop being stupid. Use cash as much as possible. When the time comes and those in control of your electronic currency decide they don't like you for whatever reason, they will shut off your access to your currency like turning off a light switch.

For me, it’s important that the SmartDNS works quickly and reliably. I’ve tried several services and found one that worked perfectly for my needs. If you want to test out a service, there are some with great trial periods to help you evaluate the quality beforehand, like SmartDNS PRO (it offers a free trial), so you can see if it fits your needs

Bottom line..."you cannot fix stupid". I teach adults, I also teach old adults the fundamentals of the web. I have a group of statements I send the students out with. Do not trust anyone. Do your own research type in the web address do not click on any link. Is that really your son, husband, sister, mother, aunt or daughter? Do NOT click on any link sent as an email. Stuff is cheaper than FaceBook.

Look he's right in one way 'you can't fix stupid', most people do get hacked because they do stupid things. VPN's and IS are perfect for these consumers as it really does have a Zero Knowledge framework. But for those 'in the know' (by that I mean even this guy in this video, you shouldn't listen to him either) a VPN may not be necessary, IS yes please get it everyone. In Australia most people get tricked, scammed or hacked because of the absence of IS

He's dreaming. For my bank and credit cards I would LOVE to use a security key assuming I get also get it to work with a smartphone. The problem is, NONE OF THESE ACCOUNTS GIVE A YUBIKEY OPTION and as far as I can see, they never will, or at least, I have no reason to believe they ever will, In fact, almost all of these institutions use SMS-texted codes for mandatory 2FA which is the least secure method possible due to SIM swap scams. Guys like this should not be preaching to us, we already agree. He should be trying to influence the financials institutions to accept physical security keys but...oh yeah, they don't care what he or anybody else suggests lol.

7:26 Is the credit thaw new? I bought a car last year and had so many issues trying to release my credit freeze - the bureau wouldn't let me do it online, I had to send a LETTER to them, which took extra time and delayed my purchase. I know having my credit frozen is more secure, but that was an incredible PITA.
