Brax explains how this fails expectations but anything is better than the almighty Google

Not that long ago for some of us 20yrs ish - you paid for services b/c folks like us out there were providing them as a job/career = livelihood. It made sense then as it ideally could now. Getting back to that model universally making sense, is a good start. Now FB being free in trade to own you/your data is still commodity trading hands. This was all just all step one and what we understood. Marketing is king in most industry, when industry use to be about the industry - obviously it is not really anymore :(. Thus quality of life has suffered emensily. Really has to start with basic conceptuals of life. Reality can be our experience in feelings, but factuality in reality ties into our very identity and we are all paying very dearly for it.

Most of us don’t have anything to hide but value privacy for all the personal information we don’t want to give away for free
@jakemelinko Жыл бұрын
Nothing to hide eh? Everyone has a personal life in their private home which they would not want exposed to their peers or public and judged. You haven't even come close to considering the implications of embarrassment and humiliation and shaming of what people do to others. Plus you totally sound like a bot account, sorry.
@boondockmutiny9955 Жыл бұрын
@@jakemelinko lol no not a bot. I’m just talking about the people that go to the extremes. Ditching something like Proton over a rumor and his threat model is basically nothing. I’m saying I care more about not having my info sold at this point.

3:24 This is the most important part of the video. YES, I want to "see what life outside of Google look like"
@BiffaloBuff893 Жыл бұрын
I have been on that path for almost a year. It can be pretty difficult- it's taking me a long time to completely sever all ties to Google (which I know isn't everyone's definition of trying "life outside of Google"); mostly because work and school require me to maintain have a Google account for each. That's on top of the fact that whenever I have some collaboration with someone where I have to share documents with them, Google services is always the default medium because that's what they know. It's like trying to convince everyone around you to only buy you birthday or Christmas gifts from local businesses instead of Wal-Mart or Amazon. It's not likely. But for me, getting just a taste of life outside of Google is a very addicting and rewarding process and I would highly recommend it.

100%. Btw, Amazon Prime is now requiring subscription to do away with ads to watch shows and movies.
@backcountryFLcyclist Жыл бұрын
I pay for a premium subscription to youtube so I don't have to watch ads and can download content for offline viewing. I don't think I would pay for facebook ad free though. I use 1password and I would never revert back to never using a password manager.

I am definitely concerned about AI and Quantum. I just secured all my data with Yubikeys, Proton Mail, and Apple Advanced Data Protection, thanks for that info. I do have a question on iPhone security. Given the recent advancements in AI, how safe is FaceID compared to 6 or 8 digit pins? It would be awesome to see a video on this.

I predict I won't be using tech for anything. The way tech is evolving scares me more and more. I'm trying to get somewhere that is closer to life in the 80s.

You are right, , cyber security is a challenge to every one of us. Weak passwords and more than 2 social media apps are already a no no. The thing is a lot of people don't care at all. I have been watching your videos cause I am involved with top military and government high tech devices. Keep the excellent information coming. Kind regards from BC. 7:28

To your point, I somehow have passkey set up on my PayPal using my iPhone Keychain, I think, but I have no idea how it was setup. I think it’s a very confusing process and wasn’t even able to set it up with my yahoo email.

I'm from Sweden and not sure what you mean. Could you expand on how it's bad for privacy?
@AllThingsSecured Жыл бұрын
I didn’t say it was good or bad. I honestly think it’s about how it’s implemented. Governments aren’t exactly well-known for their privacy practices.
@BiffaloBuff893 Жыл бұрын
It's interesting that you say that passwords are "unfortunately" going to be around for the next few years. Why do you consider that as unfortunate? It sounds like you're more in favor of biometrics. Why is that? (Not trying to be insulting or argumentative; I'm genuinely curious about your view) My own concerns with biometrics are spoofing, privacy, and accessibility. I really wish biometrics were more commonly implemented with 2FA instead of as 1FA authentication (mostly thinking about mobile devices, which would likely be the most utilized medium of storing a digital ID).

My key concern is that by using things like AI, hostile nation-states can interfere with our democratic elections. Democracy is under threat enough as it stands today, but there is worse to come.

AI video, voice, IQ, will ultimately become undetectable from human. There will be a crisis, because humans rely on this to communicate. This video in the near future could be replicated by AI. We won’t know!
