Ok confused. I'm the instruction book it says to OPEN the humidity valve all the way up for the last 3 days. How does opening it increase the humidity. Is that not backwards? You say close it? Which one is it
@cabincreekhomestead7613 күн бұрын
I was so confused as well. They want the vent open so that there’s really good air circulation, but in some environments it’s really hard to keep it open and also keep the humidity way up. What I have discovered is keeping it in a small bathroom is the best way to keep that vent open but also keep the humidity up because you can just rely on hot showers to increase the humidity
@cavyboy993 күн бұрын
This step alone makes me NOT like this one. Like if you open it that's gonna lower the humidity. I just keep the unit in my mancave. Guess I'm just gonna close it about 3/4 the way and see what happens . Guess I need to get one that controls the humidity on its own

I support you. Let’s both get the cabinet incubators. We deserve it 😆🤣
@cavyboy9919 сағат бұрын
@cabincreekhomestead761 i got this thing closed like 90% just to stay around 50% humidity. I don't know how the heck I'm gonna get up to 70% humidity

Thanks. Very informative video. So i had my eggs shipped and seems like the air sack has moved in the eggs i have. So what do i need to do differently?
@cabincreekhomestead76120 сағат бұрын
A lot of the air cells get “saddled “during shipping, and you’re supposed to let them rest for about 24 to 48 hours before you start hatching

Why do people say to raise the humidity on the last 3 days but the unit says to fully open the grey air vent on the last 3 days?
@cabincreekhomestead76128 күн бұрын
The membranes need to be supple and moist so the chick doesn’t get stuck in it. A dry membrane will shrink around the chick causing it to be immobilized. The vent being open is important for fresh air to circulate

It depends on the style of turning. I add more to the ones that roll, but it’s not possible for ones that rotate in a row of nesting cups 🩷

She may have had trouble turning because the yellow piece is still in the incubator. It is supposed to be removed the last three specifically for that reason alone, to give them room to hatch.
@cabincreekhomestead761Ай бұрын
The yellow turner doesn’t effect hatching or mobility, I’ve hatched leaving the turner in for over three years now

My rooster was fine till we put him into a cage between 2 other roosters. I think he hurt himself fighting thru the cages because a few minutes later his head was upside down. It has been several months. I am taking him out and feeding him by hand. He eats good but after a few bites or drinks, he lets his head go back upside down. How do I help if it is an injury?
