I am not sure about the ability to tolerate side loads, i don't see any diagonal braces. I am curious as to how this project went after all these years.

Awesome build my brother richard had a chevy luv truck brand new back in 1980 the first thing he did after getting 2 flats he said hey come check this out the truck was low to the ground he said thats what he was going to do to it after 3 days at our dads he cut the front springs and put blocks on the rear leaf springs my dad had to cut the rear wheel wells and notch part of the bed along with part of the rear frame with the factory tire they looked ok but way to tall so. They took a smaller chevy wheel and tire making the over all look just rite my dad told him now you got a mini hot rod truck my bro told our dad no not yet ur 32 is black this white has to go so they rattle caned it flat black.when we drove it for the first time to go get 2 6 packs people asked him man this truck is bad ass they think he started something in the streets of riverside California in the early 80s everywhere he went he got asked this that on his truck like our dad a war veteran building hot rods after coming home it was in our blood to do crazy stuff to vehicles

Nope, it will have no control for the lower half of its range when it has weight on it. Also, its not 'cantilever'..... thats a much abused term and it describes nothing that hinges contrary to popular misconception.

So how much of that is your driveshaft gonna let you use? :P
@guydoinstuff50277 жыл бұрын
I realize there were alot of design issues. As I stated, this was my first attempt as I have never built anything like this before. If you take a look at Cantilever Airbag Setup Part 2, you'll see the changes made. Still a work in progress......

Your fit and finish is just fantastic. One observation however, is as the suspension bags are filled the differential rotated the pinion down to such an angle so as to not be able to attach a drive shat. Have you corrected this problem?

I'm sure you know this already but this won't work very well with the pivot so close to the bags, there will be a huge load on the bags like this and will suck unless its way up in the air. You do very nice work btw.
