Apparently Akechi Mitsuhide/明智光秀 is Yasuke's enemy in the game? Furthermore, Yasuke's role is to save the Japanese people from oppression. But Akechi Mitsuhide is considered the benefactor of Fukuchiyama/福知山 and worshipped as a god in Goryo Jinja/御霊神社. It's disrespectful to steal the achievements of a god and belittle him as an oppressor. Is Ubi making fun of Japanese religion?

It's a false pretense to say there's an inherent problem with a black or asian cowboy. Anyways, I can't shake the feeling that a number of these comments aren't from Japanese people, but from Western people pretending to be Japanese in order to make it seem as though there is an outrage on part of the Japanese people.

@user-cd8fi8sg3t I wasn't saying that you specifically are a westerner posing as a Japanese. What I mean to say is that it has already been documented that westerners are pretending to be Japanese so that they can be negative about AC and then support their own argument by saying "look! The reason why Japanese people are criticizing this work is because UBI has announced that it ``faithfully reproduces based on historical facts'' things that many Japanese people point out as incorrect history. If it was called fiction, Japanese people would be more tolerant. Family crests are used on armor and flags, but they are clumsy (family crests are the same as European emblems. Descendants of the Oda family still use family crests). Yasuke has no last name and is clearly not a samurai. This is because samurai at that time were like royal guards for the nobility, and were given special surnames. In addition, during the Kamakura period (1985 AD~), an order was issued prohibiting human trafficking and slavery, so there was no slavery in the country. Beheadings are said to have been commonplace, but samurai needed permission to use their swords in town. Therefore, it is not a daily occurrence. As mentioned above, there are many things that do not respect Japan's culture and history, but rather disrespect it. It has also become a problem due to the presence of insulting remarks and expressions.

There is something that has been a hot topic recently. Everyone knows that the source of Yasuke's story is a book by Thomas Lockley, but in the editing history of the Wikipedia page for Yasuke, there is a person called "Tottoritom," who has been the main revamper of the page for many years. Oddly, Tom cited Lockley's book as the source of his article months before it was published, then replaced the citation with the full title after the book was actually published. The only people who know the contents of a book before it is published are those involved, those who can predict the future, and the author himself. Who would you choose? As an added note, we all know how Tom is used as a nickname, and Lockley taught English in ""Tottori"", in Japan.

Addams was not a samurai. He never went into battle or had any training. He was a trusted advisor to the Emperor. He was given the rank of Hatamoto as an advisor. He was instrumental in supplying the Emperor with ship building techniques and with the Cannons! Those Cannons were instrumental in endings the Sengoku (warring) period. You are saying you are against misinformation of your Japanese history but you are reporting about the Dutch survivor stranded in Japan incorrectly! That is 偽善者(hypocrisy).
@iso72SSKey
@iso72SSKey Ай бұрын
William Adams was British, not Dutch. The Dutchman was Jan Joosten, and he was not given samurai status. That's why he doesn't have a surname. In the Edo period, it was considered a samurai privilege to have a surname, and in principle, people of other status were prohibited from using surnames in public places or in the presence of samurai. However, William Adams was given samurai status by the Shogun, so he was able to have a surname. He was given the surname Miura, and called himself Miura Anjin. Hatamoto was one of the ranks of samurai in the Edo period, and it means a vassal directly under the Shogun. In other words, Adams was a samurai. You may think that people who participated in battles or received training were samurai, but that's not true. Samurai is a status and a class.

It's because Ubisoft is trying to portray their game as an accurate historical factual event set within feudal Japan when the game is not, ok? That is the issue everyone has with this game including the Japanese. There is literally nothing confusing about this. Do not portray something as historically accurate when it is not, simple. In fact, other Asians and walks of life should be shaming this game if not Ubisoft is just gonna do it to their history, too. With the Fate series, yes there are many elements of fiction and fancy, however, the creator, Nasu has never claimed his work is historically accurate or that his work is the de facto voice of reason when it comes to history. In fact, for Fate GO in particular when you start the game it tells you that none of the events in the game are based on reality and that it is only a work of fiction. The Fate Series is NOT trying to deceive you, unlike this Assassin's Creed game. Moreover, the Fate Series including GO does not make a mockery of the historical events and figures they show in their universe. Another thing is that most of the fictional and fancy elements done in the Fate series are done within reason to drive the narrative of the Fate story and timeline something ASSassin's Creed Shadow does not do and only changes things to fit their woke agenda. Ubisoft can learn a thing or two from a Fate Series if they want to go the fictional route.

Do a search for "アサクリ 新作 炎上" in Japanese. You will see the anger of the Japanese people. The perversion of history is terrible, Yasuke is not a samurai, he doesn't understand the Japanese historical background and values. UBI would never make a Japanese person the main character. The subtitles and concept art are wrong, which can be seen as disrespect for Asia. There is nothing but problems with this game.

source uses the word 武士 (''bushi'', "warrior") not 侍 (''samurai'', more specifically a class of hereditary nobility) and source content does not substantively define Yasuke as being granted hereditary nobility status.

Yasuke is not a samurai. Nobunaga made a black slave brought by a white man carry his luggage. The Japanese are furious at the history fabrication movement that makes this simple black slave a great samurai. Since there is no surname, Yasuke is not a samurai. When he met Akechi, he was not killed because he was considered an animal. If it is a real samurai, if the monarch is killed, he will fight and die, or die in seppuku. When he doesn't challenge Akechi for revenge, he is not a samurai. Japanese people don't call cowards samurai. Even if black people respect such embarrassing animals. Japanese people are brave, so they don't respect such cowards.
