1m inner diameter is far too small. Especially für the forest cat which will grow bigger. It should be at least 1.3, better 1.4-1.5m.
@Induku8 күн бұрын
Nope. All the cats in the video is now fully grown. The one with forest cat ancestry is 11 years old and unlikely to grow at this stage.

Hello, I've got the same problem but i need to have access on the table from all sides, so the horizontal support is not a good idea for me. Question, do you think that making the same design with the triangular braces only would be as stable?

Careful with using carpet, cats claws can get stuck and while running they could really hurt themselves. Cork or rubber are safer options :)

great video! I have two cats, and they are leaning towards chubby side so I'd like to make this for them for exercise. Would I be able to take the part templates, and have the pieces cut out at Home Depot or something?
@Induku3 ай бұрын
I am not sure how home depot works, but it they or any other place cuts wood from plans using a cnc machine or laser cutter then it would work.
@BrandonTLock22 күн бұрын
Home improvement stores don’t typically do precision cuts like this. They might cut it in half to fit in your car, but final dimensions are the customer’s responsibility.

Nice design except a bit noisy, perhaps you could use a softer material for the support wheels such as polyurthane ? I believe you can buy tapered bushes in this material or just buy some skate board wheels and machine a taper on them?
@Induku5 ай бұрын
It is a bit noisy, but I think it is mostly the large ring. Skateboard wheel would certainly help to reduce a lot of the noise. But the cats seems happy and it is not in a place where it bothers me. But for small places it is certainly a thing to keep in mind.

Watching with interest. Will the Strandbeest be able to cary the weight of boiler and steam engine?
@Induku7 ай бұрын
I think it should, there are enough legs so the weight will not be a problem. I am going to add quite a few gears to reduce the speed and increase the power - so it might be a bit slow, but I do not want it to run around carrying fire and steam...

@Induku7 ай бұрын
I am not sure how to cure salami but I think the cabinet is too warm and too dry with too much airflow. It is of course possible to place it in a cooler area and increase the humidity but you will need to check that the conditions is right for salami.
