Great video. The only thing that you didn’t show was how to hook the gas line to the stove pressure regulator.

Wayne, can ya help me? I tried this exact technique, using exact same (roofing ) nails, a 4and three sixteenth inch spread on nails in tree (where little curves on trap jaws are), and put trap about 11 inches above ground on tree. Squirrels approach from above, as I watch them and take the bait, ....... but they KEEP GETTING AWAY! one had bloody nose/closed eye, but completely recovered in about 10 minutes. I did watch myself get one, but almost got away. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? Is it the nail depth?, nail angle?, nail spread?, These squirrels are LIGHTENING FAST!!!! Can't believe they're dodging the trap! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Shawn.

What is the cost of propane where you live? It's not that much cheaper. What does it cost to convert a vehicle to propane Possibly you could do à video about converting one over with the cost breakdown. Thanks!😊

I haven't boiled any traps yet, but if it improves the function of the mechanism, I might give it a go. I get a little concerned when the trap gets really rusty, so I usually go ahead and sand it down and cover it with like a 20W oil and a little spray lubricant at the hinge.

What do mean "peanut butter with a stick"? Why can't you show us how to bait the trap so we know what you mean by the "stick"?
@PaulWhitcomb-ty6md
@PaulWhitcomb-ty6md 5 ай бұрын
I use a piece of carrot to smooth the peanut butter onto. It's easier. Make sure the piece is not too long, or it will prevent the trap from closing completely.

Dear Sir, you just saved me a couple of hundred dollars. Thank you so very much for this video. Even though I have a totally different wall heater, your instructions were perfect. I appreciate people like you who take the time to help single women in the high rocky mountains resolve another issue. :o)

Hi Wayne. I saw your video about propane valves. I have an off-grid home that uses propane from a 400lb propane tank for a stove, dryer, bbq, and most recently a furnace. It seems the furnace does not get enough gas to stay on when the furnace kicks on while using the BBQ or stove. I was thinking of adding a y brass adapter to the tank and attaching two 2-stage pressure regulators at each end and attaching the furnace gas to one and the rest of the home to the other, but I'm not sure this is the best solution. Do you have any insights as to what is the best solution? Any help or guidance is apprecaited. Thank you!

Man I just wanted to take a minute to thank you fot making this video. I had never taken my heater down to bare bones to clean it until I watched your video. I have the same heater as you do but a blue flame version. I had a so-called hvac pro come in several years ago to clean my heater and make sure everything looked good. He took the grate only off and wire brushed over the burner. Charged around $50 lit it and said that is all you have to do. I cleaned it yesterday, lit it and the pilot light flamed up yellow-orange color and when I turned it up it stayed lit for a few minutes and went out. Freaked me and my wife out. After watching your video, I took it apart and followed your steps and heater is working as it should! Can't thank you enough! Appreciate you bud! Liked and subscribed to your channel.

Absolute best video presentation about how to fix my heater. Thank you so much! Please add more tags in description and title because I like to have never found this video, and you explained everything so well that I was able to fix it myself 😅. Btw I know this video is 7 years old, so I hope you are doing well.

Watching in November 2023 . Still a vary good video with good information and clear instructions . In Canada these heaters are NOT LEGAL ... YET you can get Mr. Buddy and a Mr. Buddy CABINET heater ( basically a Mr. Buddy BIG in a metal 3 sided cabinet that takes a 20 Lb Propane tank . Kind of Big Brother stupidity Eh ? This cleaning advice is applicable to these smaller heaters as well . Thanks . Ontario Canada.

Good instructions, I clean pretty much the same, except in the opposite order presented in the video. And use the vacuum while blowing with much less forceful air pressure.

So sick of these things not being reliable every time I try to light the pilot each winter. I smell the gas coming out when I try to light it. The ignitor button works fine. But pilot will not catch. Right now, instructions tell me to remove 4 screws and pull front panel forward. OK, I did that but that doesn't make the burner injector any easier to reach or clean. No one in my area services these things, so its either hoping cleaning will fix it or it's another $350 out of pocket for a new one.

Thank you so much, I am a service tech for a small propane company in Iowa. Have a customer that said she sees a flame shooting over the brick and sometimes out of the heater... I couldn't see it. It is only an 18,000 but heater with three bricks and the outer two bricks light but the middle one doesn't glow like the outer ones. I am going to try to clean it as you did, thanks again.

This replaced an older wall unit that failed. kzbin.infoUgkxQDiHf0Cagl2e3YNPX-bWnDMXQAL2A2Y8 The grill on the front is nice, the old unit did not have one, just the glass. Much more kid/dog friendly. Best feature is the battery operated igniter..... old one had the plunger type, which was quirky. This one fires right up with just a touch of the button. Takes the chill off a room very quickly, seems to put out more heat that the one that was there, even though they were the same BTUs. Very impressed.... so much so I bought a second one to replace the other old one even though it still works!

My 16-year old propane heater had gotten to where the flames were leaping off the burners like the one wonky burner in your video. I've routinely cleaned the pilot light assembly over the years, but I had never cleaned the primary air holes for each of the burners. I used my air compressor to blow up through the air intake holes and poof--a black cloud literally puffed in my face! After cleaning everything up and putting it back together, no more leaping flames, and the burners are glowing nice and red, just like it did when it was new. Thanks so much for the detailed video.
