I don't know much about diesel, diesel engines or heaters, but smoke that is white usually indicates water - possibly water in the diesel? I understand water can be condensate from within the tank. If so, you might be able to install a water filter for this.

Poor combustion, most likely due to the incorrect installation of your fuel line from the pump to the heater. The fuel line MUST follow a continual uphill incline from pump to heater, I noticed you have loop in your fuel line, this will be trapping air bubbles and will cause poor combustion. Also make 100% certain that your nylon fuel line is pushed flush against the steel nipple on the pump and the heater, if not, you will trap air bubbles. Air bubbles act like damper, and will cause poor fuel delivery to the heater.

Hey muddy. Not seen where you storage box is maybe one above the battery tray into the van? I have a vivid cross like an urban haze and had 2 boxes for agm outside like that and a spaghetti junction of wiring with multiple terminals like that. Don't know how caravan companies can get away doing that multiple power leads into one terminal. Dodgy as. Great idea to take back inside the positive wires for the loads and run a fuse box inside the van if you have an opening above those batteries then you can have each individual circuit. Enjoy your new power.. ❤

Hi ! A Great video, Just one question, do you have a smart shunt in your system. These work like a fuel guage in your car. These are the only thing that will tell you the remaing capacity in your lithium battery. They can also tell of the terminal voltage, the current that is going into and out of battery, time left to discharge as a percentage, I have used a Victron smart shunt and a bonus is that it ( along with other victron devises ) blue toothed to my phone.

Gday muddy. Neat install.❤ Have you adjusted your Inverter setup/RCD since you made the video? Watching vandercampadventures on KZbin a switch contactor is needed for N-E bonding when 240v output supplied from inverter (not on hook up) only then will the RCD function on AC output and protect you. Part of the new regs from Nov 23 apparently. I think the AU regs are similar to the UK with talking to a local sparky. The renogy units already have an automatic change over switch inside the unit..

@muddyandsandy
@muddyandsandy 3 ай бұрын
Yeah 4/0 awg would be good...so not much voltage drop....3000 watt inverter can only 230amps roughly...3000w÷13v=230 amp...400amp breaker doesn't sound right....breaker is designed to protect cable before it melts...so the breaker size needs to be similar capacity to cable capacity.......

I am running a 12v system. So I get slapped with high requirements. Pulled this off Google. The current draw will depend on the battery voltage. If the inverter is connected to a 12V battery bank, it can draw up to 350 amps, while if connected to a 24V battery bank, it can draw up to 175 amps

A couple of questions please; 1 What size cable did you use? 2. is the battery isolator and the circuit breaker needed - could you just manually trip the circuit breaker to isolate 3. You used a 200amp breaker. Renogy suggests 400amp for the 3000W model. Any specific reason. Thank again
