if you are not planning to sell your ETF's under RRSP. then when you retire, you might have to pay heavy taxes right? how are you reducing taxes /savings here? ( is drawing dividends per month a strategy to reduce that burden?). PS - glad i came across your channel! subscribed.

Great question! I’ll have to convert my RRSP to a RRIF by the end of the year I turn 71. Starting the next year, I’ll need to withdraw at least 5.28% of the total RRIF value at the beginning of the year. Dividends earned within the RRIF will count toward this withdrawal amount. A year’s worth of dividends, possibly combined with small stock sales, should be enough to cover the minimum. However, the percentage I’m required to withdraw increases as I get older. For example: Age 72: 5.40% Age 73: 5.53% Age 80: 6.82% Age 90: 11.92% It's important to note that once my RRSP is converted to a RRIF, I won’t be able to make any more contributions. But I don’t expect any issues withdrawing from the RRIF as required or runnimg out of money, and any remaining funds will eventually be passed on to my children. I hope that answered your question. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

What do you think of dfn in a tsfa for income
@GaryGillX17 сағат бұрын
Hi Mary, DFN (BMO Dividend Fund ETF) is a good choice for a TFSA if you're looking to maximize income, especially for those closer to or at retirement, since it focuses more on dividends rather than capital gains. However, I recommend adding this ETF to a diversified portfolio with other ETFs to help reduce risk. Relying on just this one ETF for income will expose you to more volatility. Thanks for watching!

why not just get XEQT? Also, if I already have some USD sitting around in a brokerage account, would it make sense to just buy VOO? Any tax implication if buying in a registered account?
@GaryGillX3 күн бұрын
XEQT is a great option for investors. If you’re dealing in US currency, VOO is an ideal choice. However, for registered accounts like TFSAs, keep in mind there’s a 15% withholding tax on dividends from US-based ETFs. I’ve broken down VOO and its impact on TFSAs and RRSPs in my previous video, "Best TFSA & RRSP ETF Portfolio in 2025". Be sure to check it out for more details. Thanks for watching! Thanks for watching!

I recently opened my rrsp account and do not know what holdings to buy and how to go about it. My tfsa currently has VFV, XIC and VGRO.
@GaryGillX4 күн бұрын
A safe strategy would be to mimic your TFSA by holding more VFV, XIC, and VGRO. In my previous video, I broke down my current RRSP, which leans more towards dividends and capital gains. If you're far from retirement, I suggest focusing on ETFs that emphasize capital gains, similar to your TFSA strategy. As you get closer to retirement, you can shift your focus to dividend-heavy ETFs in your RRSP. Thanks for watching!

Great content Gary! I am about to start investing and your approach really aligns with mine. I was to about to put money in VOO and then found its Canadian counterpart VFV by researching around. Does VUG has an ETF on Toronto stock exchange?
@GaryGillX5 күн бұрын
Unfortunately VUG does not have a direct equivalent listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) But if you're looking for a TSX-listed ETF that focuses on growth VGRO (Vanguard Growth ETF Portfolio) is listed on the TSX and may be a good option for you. Thanks for watching Mehtab!

Just got back from Dubai, and wow, what a letdown! 😒 The city is like a tacky mirage in the desert, trying so hard to be luxurious that it forgets about the basics. Roads full of potholes, bureaucracy that'll make your head spin, and a glaring divide between the haves and have-nots. 🚧💰 it really felt like in some parts they tried to copy the city of Houston, and the funny thing is they took Houston, and made it worse.

I'm Jewish and live in Australia - I agree with many points you made but the effect of the circular economy point are way overstated - we have had this conversation time and again with my friends - many non-Jews hold this view that Jews get ahead by helping each - I don't think this happens any more or less than other communities - Jewish communities are very small - in the US it makes up 2% - in Australia it 0.5% so if Jews were to rely on their own markets for their success they wouldn't get anywhere. Just for perspective there are 16m Jews out of 8.3 billion people on earth - not even one quarter of one percent of the world population.

@Gazzapa57Ай бұрын
@@GaryGillX The footage of the religious Jew talking about the circular economy has more truth to it for them as the religious community is tight knit, closed and make up a small fraction of the total Jewish population which is largely secular.

And because of this "keep it all in the jewish family" they have been thrown out of most countries, even their own. It is not good but when other big ones already run that, and them not "sharing" and keep wealch in that comunity, countries that they go to, tend to see them as a threat. This is from sociological historical views, not mine. They are amazing but maybe need to open a bit more on helping others outside their comunity or this will keep happening. Except the US that was new land and they already have it.

Besides the holocaust,I don’t know much about them because my country kicked them out centuries and the Jewish stereotypes I noticed were Hollywood a bit later in life, in modern day they are here but not in my region that I’m aware and we even give them citizenship because of it Been from a country where most are still Catholic (at least in name)we do some similar things besides tithing ,like who you know is still quite important to get anything done. The main source is education imo and not only academic because that’s one the factors that puts my country behind by European standards. My country knows get hindustan people idk if that’s how you say it and they usually aren’t that highly educated , the USA seems to get the more highly skilled ones that can get thru and pay to enter the usa, here some have a reputation for unhygienic pratices and harassment, people that like to create generalization are taking advantage of that opportunity to foster h4te. From my perspective most immigrant communities try to do business among themselves so idk how Jewish people differ from it.

Because their bible allows them to steal, deceive, lie, scam, murder and pretty much do anything to whoever is not a member of the tribe, which means roughly 99.8% of the world population. They literally have no conception of good and bad as long as they don't wrong their own group, so you understand what edges that gives you in business.

it is because sooner than later they are going to build the III Temple in Jerusalem, consequently they have to be in a position of strength to do so (financially-politacally-army) to take care of it. it is a key item in the Messiah´s plan. God bless the XII Tribes of Israel.
