Note your beginning we always say Minneapolis and St Paul, and not what you said St Paul and Minnesota. Just one example. I did enjoy you sharing the fun places to buy in the state thou.

So much of this video is not from Minnesota. You could not give me for free a place on Mille Lacs due to how screwed up the fishing regulations are. The only place you will see Axis deer 5:42 will be a zoo. All those popular places you mention are zoo's in the summer and for the most part the cabins are built on top of one another.. Cougars are very rare in Minnesota unless you go to some of the bars in the Twin Cities suburbs. My wife and I love our cabin- retirement home on a quiet 350 acre lake with not much development on it that's a little under 3 hours from the north metro in northern MN.

Your comment about cougars has me LOL’ing. I have personally seen bobcats, porcupine, bear, fox and moose in Minnesota. Some of the places I mentioned are busy in summer because they are awesome so people want to go there.

It is true that Minneapolis has a incredible wealth of natural beauty and most of it has been preserved in the system of parks. It is not true, however, that they are well maintained. When I was a child back in the 1950s, park maintenance was a high priority. That is no longer true. I grew up half a block from the park surrounding Lake Nokomis. It was faithfully mowed every week and we played ball there all the time. Nobody plays ball there today. Today the priority is on building new facilities with the ensuing opportunity for photo-ops for politicians. Maintenance of the parks takes as back seat. Challenge: Go to Loring Park in downtown Minneapolis and try to find a blade of grass. Bring knee pads. I'm not saying you won't find any grass at all, but it's mostly weeds like Creeping Charlie. It is not just Minneapolis that has an abundance of parks; it's true of the whole metropolitan area. But as you explore our parks, watch out for the goose poop. We have an uncontrolled overpopulation of Canada Geese. They are beautiful birds, but they are also pests. They are aggressive and they poop everywhere. They congregate near water, so if a park is near water, and with so many lakes and so many parks, a lot of them are adjacent to each other, it can be difficult to avoid the goose poop while walking in a park. I live on a lake with a park on the north end. I would not want my grandson playing there. Our seasons are phenomenal, and we make the most of all of them. We are a people who love the outdoors. Do not let the cold winters scare you away. The coldest of the cold is intermittent and generally confined to a period of six weeks or less. If you are coming from the South, you may think that a temperature in the twenties sounds cold. You will soon learn that it is actually very pleasant. My niece came here from Texas for college. She was apprehensive about the cold. We told her that she would come to see that in March temperatures in the upper thirties and forties are short sleeve weather. She didn't believe us at first, but came to see that we were right. Every season has its unique charm, and we love them all. Winter: It is amazing how beautiful the world is in black and white. Even the tiniest twig has a delicate strip of white snow on it Spring: Color bursts out everywhere. Lilacs are in the air. Summer: So many lakes and so much fun in and near the water. Water skiing was invented here. Fall: The colors are wonderful. The sumac is spectacular.

Yeah, but they put the tax dollars to work. Try living in North Dakota, where the taxes are low and the infrastructure shows it. The roads are full of potholes, and the state is falling apart.

Yep, that's a legit downside. In the past four years it seems our governance is bent on making us like the cities they admire the most: San Fran, Portland, Seattle, and Chicago. The economy is still GREAT here, especially if you are a medial or technology worker.

without being extremely familiar with the tax or crime rates of those cities, I will say that we have a lower crime rate & our cost of living is substantially lower than those cities mentioned. It’s also very easy to drive around and get around.

Why you have a picture of a reindeer showing? If you're from Mn, you should know we have Whitetail deer. The land structure doesn't look like Northern MN to me. If you want to feature a lake from that area, talk about lake Vermillion, you must have some listings there.

I am so Minnesotan, I have even been charged by a whitetail deer once by accidentally unknowingly getting in between a mom and her newborn. Stephanie, I feel you are describing Minneapolis as it was pre-BLM riots. I used to feel safe going just about anywhere in the areas you have described, even at night. But now I won’t go to a downtown restaurant at night unless there is a major entertainment event taking place and there are large crowds present. Minneapolis is struggling to recruit and maintain an adequate police presence. So many of my suburban friends have stated the same thing. Now there are certain neighborhoods that I completely avoid driving through even in the daytime. Sadly many great restaurants have closed in the uptown area and downtown area due to losing a large portion of their regular customer base due to safety concerns.

I hear what you’re saying and know other people feel that same way. I haven’t felt unsafe in the neighborhoods I highlighted in this video and feel extremely safe in the areas of minneapolis I frequent, but of course there are areas in many cities not just minneapolis where I don’t go - I just don’t have a reason to be there.

@mplsfarmer I did see some great restaurants close but I felt covid also played a strong part as did a change in parking in certain neighborhoods which unfairly impacted those businesses. I also am seeing amazing new restaurants popping up frequently and new businesses too, so I see the pendulum swinging in the other direction!

Anyone know where i can find a nice 10-20 acre plot of land for sale in Minnesota? You have to be able to shoot guns on the property, also build a small cabin in the future. Must have some woods. Prefer a stream on the property. Price is a big issue... Hence why i am looking for a smaller plot 10-20 acres. $30,000 is my range but for the rite property i may raise more funds.
