Great job Stephanie! I agree with everything that you said. I grew up in Southwest Minnesota(MN) (lots of shallow lakes) and we would spend one week per year in the glacial lakes area of MN every year when I was young. Most of my family and many friends are still there and many of them have "cabins" (most properties are much better than "cabins") on the exact lakes that you show. After many years of searching and looking at properties, especially around Alexandria, MN, I finally purchased a property in the glacial lakes region of South Dakota (SD). SD gives you much more for your money compared to the competitive MN lakes but buyer beware. MN lakes are BEAUTIFUL, picturesque and within access to Minneapolis/St. Paul. However, if you like to fish, as I do, SD lakes will give you a far better experience. I catch large Walleye, Northern Pike, Crappies, Perch, White Bass, etc., FROM MY DOCK! Ok, you can't fish every day because the wind will blow you right into the lake but you can always find a sheltered area if you really need to go fishing. SD lakes are WILD! You are on the prairie. But, if you fly in to Sioux Falls or your are willing to drive 4-6 hours from Minneapolis, then definitely check out the SD glacial lakes.

Those lakes sound beautiful too! There are so many great options and not too long of a drive from cities and airports. That is funny how you said that most “cabins” are much nicer than “cabins” - very true!

Why you have a picture of a reindeer showing? If you're from Mn, you should know we have Whitetail deer. The land structure doesn't look like Northern MN to me. If you want to feature a lake from that area, talk about lake Vermillion, you must have some listings there.

I just wanted to see if you were paying attention - it’s like a built in quiz. I am so Minnesotan, I have even been charged by a whitetail deer once by accidentally unknowingly getting in between a mom and her newborn. Lake vermillion is lovely & I’ve featured it in other videos. Thanks for watching!

Anyone know where i can find a nice 10-20 acre plot of land for sale in Minnesota? You have to be able to shoot guns on the property, also build a small cabin in the future. Must have some woods. Prefer a stream on the property. Price is a big issue... Hence why i am looking for a smaller plot 10-20 acres. $30,000 is my range but for the rite property i may raise more funds.

I am born and raised in Minnesota & I’ve lived here the majority of my life. However, I spent 7 years living in Sydney, Australia as an adult and my husband is from England so that may be why I speak a little differently from some Minnesotans 🙂

SAG'-ganaga, not Saga-NA'ga. And Po-KEG'-gama, not Pokey-GA'ma. A true Minnesotan would either know this or would have the sense to look it up before posting to thousands of viewers. 🙄 That said, no offense to your real estate colleagues but the fewer people clocking MN as a great place to move to, the better. Try Wisconsin. It's got lots of nice lakes. Oh, but look up your pronunciations first. They've got Indian names, too.

Tomato tomato (doesn’t really work as a written expression in the same way as shiny it aloud). I’m a true Minnesotan born & raised & love my lovely state regardless of anyone’s critique of my perhaps faulty pronunciation. There are so many hidden gems in Minnesota still!

So much of this video is not from Minnesota. You could not give me for free a place on Mille Lacs due to how screwed up the fishing regulations are. The only place you will see Axis deer 5:42 will be a zoo. All those popular places you mention are zoo's in the summer and for the most part the cabins are built on top of one another.. Cougars are very rare in Minnesota unless you go to some of the bars in the Twin Cities suburbs. My wife and I love our cabin- retirement home on a quiet 350 acre lake with not much development on it that's a little under 3 hours from the north metro in northern MN.

Your comment about cougars has me LOL’ing. I have personally seen bobcats, porcupine, bear, fox and moose in Minnesota. Some of the places I mentioned are busy in summer because they are awesome so people want to go there.
