How can he be such a fantastic musician and also write lyrics like this? I think we should be told.

The Strawberry Music Festival, evening, beautiful outdoors Camp Mather near Yosemite, full "house", Richard played this at the end, blew the sky off the joint, had everyone instantly singing the refrain in harmony, he finished with us still singing..and we never stopped as we all went back to our campsites....legendary!!! You can still hear us singing there...

Fook me, the 90's were even more cringy than I remembered! Not Richard, of course, but - my gosh - the House Band! 😅

This song inspired Jimmy Page's White Summer with The Yardbirds and later Led Zeppelin.

That guitar works evokes some long ago shared human past where we sat by fireside divining how to survive another day with the dark surrounding all around.

When late night TV was good and worth watching. I remember 1st time I tuned in for Tomorrow Show and saw this goofy gap toothed Letterman instead om Tom Snyder. I soon learned to actually like him, his goofy comedy and became a steady viewer, along with my wife. Many nights we watched Letterman with our dog Rex.

Whoa! Just noticed Richard is actually proper fingerpicking this, not hybrid picking, as he normally does!! Wow, RT can do anything!

Is it me,…or is there a hint of “The End” by the Doors in his guitar playing?

I heard him playing a 'lute like' instrument on NPR a long time ago singing Barbara Allen. He took my breath away and I dream of hands like his to play so very spiritually. Amazing.
