Listening to this song and allowing to feel all the feels has somehow given me more closure on my one that got away than anything before. The power of art. Once art makes you feel truly seen in your emotions, it takes away their power. Like, yes. I should have told you what you meant to me. But I didn't, and it hurts, as it should. But I'll live, like others have lived. Also, the whole concept of "in another life" kind of gave room for acceptance, because as much as I wish it had, it simply didn't happen in this life. I heard this version before Katy Perry's and instantly fell in love with it some years back. Last month, I went through my most serious heartbreak, the star-crossed lovers kind of thing. We had a call late at night and both cried like kids while talking about how we can never be together due to some reasons and said goodbye to eachother, that's when we closed the last chapter of our love story. This song got me through that heartbreak because 90% of the lyrics are exactly what happened. That's when I finally truly felt this song❤❤
