You would have to retro-fit the front fairing stay, all fairings connected to the upper and headlights, and wiring harness, which means you would also have to switch many other electronics. It would be cheaper to buy a used 2019+

Yesss, it came like 6days later. Was totally worth it, got the mgp full system exhaust , velocity stacks, block off plate, DNA filter, airbox mod that recommended by Norton with the stacks, an there ECU flash. My bike is a beast. I can hit 75 easy in 3rd gear, 135mph I had it going. It's a no brainier, definitely recommend this! Best flash on the market, gotta run premium gas after tho, 91 octane or higher, I use 94 octane an it runs an sounds like a 650 imo.

It won't always happen on every bike, but it is more common on the Ninja 400 than other bikes.

I think its the shifter position, the rider boots are stiff and don't allow full ankle movement resulting in a false neutral, more comon from 5th to 6th where the gear is a short shift, one solution is to adjust gear shifter position to your riding boot,,,, I think several mm downwards.😮

Also, another question, the z400 in france is limited to 44hp for A2 license riders, will the ecu flash remove the restrictions? And will this mod be compatible with the 44hp A2 version? Thank you very much!

It would be possible, but would require pinning out and re-wiring to retro fit the cluster, and the 2019 fairing stay and headlights and fairings. It would be both easier and cheaper to sell your 1st gen R3 and buy a 2nd gen R3.

Same thing, you would need the 1st gen tank, fairing stay, and cluster and would have to re-pin out the wiring harness.

The engine of the R3 is the same from 2015 to 2023+, there is no change in the engine.

The 7 hp gain shown here is with full exhaust and air filter. This video shows with full exhaust already installed, only a high flow air filter isn't used, but we have dyno data on our website for that. The Ninja 400 is fuel injected, the fuel filter is on the fuel pump, it doesn't make sense to change to an aftermarket fuel filter unless the OEM one goes bad, and it won't change how much horsepower it makes.

This is not true, as just cutting the OEM stacks would not retain the Venturi. Our stacks have been extensively developed over hundreds of hours on the Dyno.

@@NortonMotorsports I really don’t see it making that significant of a difference between the two. it’s only going to receive so much air the air box is already cut open after the mod.🤷🏻‍♂️. My opinion does make obvious sense.. I highly doubt you would lose even 1 HP cutting the stock stacks. I understand why you would say that you wouldn’t want to lose any money on sales.

Your opinion is just that and you're entitled to it. However opinions don't make power, well designed velocity stacks do.

Only one way to find out, buy our stacks and make your own, do the dyno work.

Yes, you just remove the O2 sensor and plug the exhaust. There is no difference, as we disable it in our tune.

We do not have any data for that setup, we developed our stacks over hundreds of hours to perform this well.

​@@MrHardbodies it's not really that bad, if at all. Pressure this, pressure that... it's not a 2 stroke; there's a poppet valve closing-off the exhaust back-flow to the engine.

You'll still see improvement over stock, but won't get the horsepower we show here without one of the recommended full exhausts.

Top speed will vary depending on your setup, the aim of this is for racing purposes where lap times and building a competitive bike is more important than focusing on top speed.

Comparatively to previous generations of ultralightweight Ninja (300/250) and the R3, the 400 is much more sensitive and can wheelie far easier in a race launch.
