Quick tip when cleaning your hands off: instead of having your buddy pour water on your hand, get a mouthful of water and gradually spit it out on your hands. Uses less water, you don’t need a buddy, and it warms the water up a bit!

What I learned. Go to 27 if you want a big bull, have people with you, and prepare to work for it. Be safe.

I am taking a first time hunter that is 16 on a cow hunt in early October. Coming from Northern California can anyone let me know if there is a good reason to bring a side by side or will it not be that demanding. Also does anyone know if there are camp ground around area 9 where we will be looking for cows.

You got 2 guys - one shoulda stayed on him while the other closed the distance. you should never take your eyes off a buck you want to kill, especially coues.

I live in Alaska and I enforced those laws for over 24 years. I have many sad stories of hunters that failed to salvage ALL the edible meat. Your advice is very good. For first time moose hunter go look at a horse up close and decide for yourself how far do i want to carry this butchered animal. You cannot over state the importance of complying with the salvage requirements.

Packed out a 58" bull from the Wrangel St Elias in 2015 after boning out all the quarters. Have regs changed since then? TY

I am working up a SUB MOA group for my rem 700 300 rum. 190 grain ABLR. So far, SEVERAL attempts with imr4350, and "magnum", i DO have 50bmg, and tomorrow getting some H 1000 (I have NO "RL" powders). Any pet loads for this???
@timmywinslow14 күн бұрын
H1k and Retumbo are go-tos for the 300RUM, I have noticed for factory rem 700 they prefer 180gr bullets due to barrel twist, to shoot the bigger bullets its better with 1-8 or 1-9 twist...2850-2950fps also seems to be a sweet spot for the velocity node. Good luck
