I play The Shadows instrumentals on a single Seventy 80 cab and it is a great speaker. Hear the sound on my youtube channel 'fjadouce100' without the quotes

I have replaced the original chisese amp XP with a seventy 80 and it sounds good. It depends also on the Amp circuitry. Here is the proof: www.youtube.com/@fjadouce100/videos

Ok, MY take, 70/80 & V30 were terrible, however the 70/80 was the BEST of a bad lot! The G12T was by far the best sounding as I think it is a much FLATTER sounding speaker, followed by the Greeny, then the G12B, which is a think a BASS speaker. I thought the G12T was the best OVERALL/All round speaker! It handled everything WELL! Good comp! \m/

The seventy 80 in a closed 2x12 cab it's a very good option for rehearsal. It's my choice, but at studio, blend differents speakers works very well.

seventy80 is too thin. Creamback nice but bass, mids and tops all sound almost over compressed, losing definition. Greenback perfect 😉

Think to buy one for clean / crunch as i heard on YT it really good at these. Some sort of nice strat clean and also britrock/pop stuff. Is that good for it?
@zaloraltest3 ай бұрын
In my opinion no. The dark terror is a metal/dropped guitars oriented amp. The crunch tones strat at 4 of gain. For brit rock try a Vox ac30 or a Marshall Origin.
@pakujewpiwnicy67014 ай бұрын
hello :) Can the Angus Young ac dc tone be obtained with this amplifier?
@zaloraltest3 ай бұрын
It’s a little difficoult. The Angus tone is 100 % old school Marshall. With the tiny terror you can find a tasty crunch for play acdc but the sound and dinamic response are different.

I'm not sure how you recorded this but the 70/80 sounds much better than that. No disrespect but this has to be the worse presentation of the 70/80 I've heard. Owning several dozen myself and installing twice that many, they are great speakers. I always tell musicians that come into my shop do not get caught up in the snake oil dogma of quality speakers in guitar amps when you're just playing distorted noise. lol. View them on a spec analyzer under a full sweep load and you'll see what I'm saying, but you can't tell the average "Guitar player" that... Love the channel btw, no negative directed towards you in any way.

NKT275 inside , pure germanium sound. A really good alternative to other Big Muff , made by the original creator of the Big Muff .

V30's are rubbish for heavier stuff or rock. Why can't people see that the clue is in the name- 'vintage' They are meant for people who play older music with no mega distortion. V30's aren't meant to have any more distortion through them than what the Beatles used. A Beatles slight distortion is their limit.

The Greenback has more mojo and the heavy Creamback just seems a bit too fizzy to my ear.

WOW......greenbacks for me sound the best, highs, mids and lows. I just bought a new Origin 212V and although its loaded with seventy 80s, those will come out and greenbacks are going in.

The Phat Cats are fuller sounding. Here the 59 appears louder because its midrange emphasis. The Phat Cats have that lively, immediate response to pick attack in the wound strings - the 59 like any humbucker has that muted, rounded off attack there.

Nice video, thanks. I like the 70/80, been using them for years in all my cabs (212, 112, and 412) all 70/80. Very versatile, not sure why people hates these

Its all so subjective-my ears prefer the greenbacks. Hate is a powerful word. The 70/80s sound very good.
