As a French I know we have a bad reputation to speak not good foreign languages. Thus, if we could have the opportunity to show foreign people that we are glad to speak also English, we’re pleased to do so.

Foreigners realizing we don’t understand a word thats coming out their mouth, and they don’t understand us either. I’ve had customers take at least 10 min in a drive thru because his dutch ass insisted in speaking « French » in the mic. Mind you my english is impeccable, and english speakers are always impressed by my accent when coworkers call me for help. Moral of the story: We’re not guinea pigs and we should not have to endure people trying their hardest to yap 2 french words we can’t hear bc of the noise, BECAUSE WE ARE WORKING. It’s not impressive to speak French if you already speak english, please leave service workers alone and buy youself a duolingo or rosetta stone sub,

I'm from Montreal as well. We do it here too. I'm bilingual but because I'm not pure francophone from la bauce, I get the English reply. Ironic because Québec wants everyone to assimilate and speak French...

I doubt Paris is the best place to practice French. I am also from Montreal, perfectly bilingual (very little accent) and people HERE still speak to me in English....
@andreizmeu8183Күн бұрын
