Farmer here, lot of talk of dumping milk, not collecting eggs and not selling our beef animals to butchers. This labour government need to be very very careful.

2 days later im reading an Avian influenza prevention zone has been declared in England. There you go. This is how they will attempt to take poultry and eggs from us and destroy part of our food supplies while punishing farmers too. How convenient would that be? Only last year the government decided all poultry had to be registered. And now we why don't we?

How about this for an idea. My father, God rest hs soul, ran a retail carpet shop in London. When known MPs or Council Employees came into the shop all the prices increased. Usually this was found out because they asked for a discount as they were enployed as such. When they asked he would say that there was an increase of 20%. He refused to budge and usually they left the shop. How about refusing to serve these evil people. Et them really know what we think of them. Some exclusons of course. I woudnt let Starmer or his family into the shop.

It’s not when you sell a farm or agricultural land that this is paid, as your guest seems to say a number of times. It’s when a parent/grand parent who owns the farm dies and passes it down to their children. The children then have as break up and sell parts or all of the farm to pay the inheritance tax, or death duty as it used to be called. We need our farms and farmers, leave them alone. If you want to go after the big fish who buy up land and sit on it there are other ways to do it I’m sure.

Alex is spot on. This 'poor farmers' stuff is BS. Half the inheritance tax rate EVERYBODY else pays, and 10 years (interest free) to pay it. Nobody will have to 'break up' anything.. and a bit of sensible tax planning and there will be nothing to pay anyway.

People haven't a clue about farming in uk. Without support, you wouldn't have a single thing affordable in the UK now and the ECC / EU which was supposed to prevent all this DESTROYED UK farning, the usa would absolutely destroy us with cheaper imported food. You'd never see anything fresh unless you where super rich. Not to mention the absolute gruel that passes for food and food chemicals out there.
