Comply are the best. I've been trying to get a good fit with all those tips that Etymotic provides from low end to high end ER4's. Comply gives you an excellent seal, comfortable, and they retain almost all the sound from the drivers, and gives you that deep bass when needed. Best part is, when you're done with them, they just slips right out. You're absolutely correct about Ety's. I have the ER2XR/SE and ER4XR. I have not used the ER2 series in a while. When I started watching reviews of the ER2's, everyone raved about them. Honestly, my ears, hands down, prefer the ER4XR's. I listen to mostly classicals these days, most of the time, violin concertos. If you like classical string works, ER4XR's balanced armature drivers brings out nearly identical sounds as if you were listening live. Often, I am tempted when a good deal IEM comes along. But after finding my niche configuration with the ER4XR's, once I wait about 48 hours, I just can't see it get any better than my current listening setup with ER4XR, Comply ear tips (Large), and my Cowon iAudio 9+ (32GB) with BBE EQ set to Headphones.

AAC vs LDAC unfortunately Apple doesn't use LDAC. My phone doesn't support the newer AptX HD and adaptive codecs, only the standard AptX codec SBC, AAC, and LDAC codecs work with the Qudelix-5K and my phone. AAC is still a clear step up from SBC, though.

Hey Jeremy, cool review!! We’ve used the Lewitt mics in the studio. They have a big connection to Austrian microphone maker AKG. Roman Perschon started Lewitt in 2009 after leaving AKG. The mics are designed in Vienna , but are made in China. Perschon was going for AKG quality at a cheaper price. (AKG has a huge history with many historical microphones, some of my favorites). AKG, an Austrian co, was sold to Samsung, (a phone co? Not many regular people know this) and the Vienna offices and production facilities were moved to Asia. 23 ex AKG employees started a new company called Austrian Audio in Vienna. They hired hundreds of ex AKG engineers and personal, people who created iconic microphones for AKG.Essentially they are now what AKG was. Samsung has the Korean AKG building phone mics , phone earbuds and other consumer items now, and the quality of their high end products have dropped. Samsung also acquired Harmon Cardin, who own JBL and many other high end brands. If you’ve noticed in the past five years+ years JBL have concentrated on Bluetooth speakers, car audio, and consumer audio. Their once great pro products are now plastic enclosures and plastic sound. I personally won’t buy anything from JBL, AKG, or Sennheiser that was made after 2010. Lewitt makes good mics at good price’s, and you can tell Perschon took his AKG experience with him. The 440 for instance is derived from the AKG414, one of my favorite vocal mics. Austrian Audio on the other hand has the original engineers and workers from the original Austrian company AKG. The prices are higher, but the build quality and engineering is in par with the old AKG. Hope all is well with you!! Happy Holidays!!!! Sonny T

Thank you for the great video! Did you notice a difference in the soundstage being better? I use the Douk with a Focusrite Scarlette 2i2 interface. I use the same headphones that you used ( Beyerdynamic ). I love that the headphones are very balanced and perfect for mixing audio tracks but I'm curious to hear if the soundstage can be improved upon. I also have Audiotechnica ATH M-30s which have plenty of soundstage. So I could always just use those for listening to my finished tracks or other artist tracks on those.
@hackinghifi424729 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! I don’t remember there being much of a sense of soundstage difference. In my experience sound stage can open up some on headphones that have too much mud in the bass with some eq. I also do enjoy the beyerdynamic headphones more with a dedicated amp than with my audio interface. So I think clean power can help. For instance I have a euphoria umc204hd audio interface and a shiit magni. I much pretty it on the schiit- the headphones feel cleaner and more powerful with better soundstage.

You're most welcome! Thank you so much for your reply! That makes a lot of sense with the cleaner power helping. I definitely need to really absorb the new sound with the Douk now. @shawndworkin28 күн бұрын
@@hackinghifi4247 My pleasure! Thank you very much! I make all kinds of audio. But I lean towards experimenting with mixing orchestral arrangements with different other genres or trying to push boundaries and make something off the wall that I've never heard before. I personally don't listen to any music from the industry anymore because of the dark side of the industry I know of. So nowadays I either listen to my own music or I seek out those that are not yet noticed and are doing something unique in my local area or sometimes outside of it. I made a flyer to have a library meetup of DAW composers who make music purely for the love of music and not for profit or career. This also keeps the intentions clean and more about just having fun. The bands I used to listen to were classic rock, like the band Yes and my favorite classical composer was Sergei Prokofiev and I was also a fan of extreme metal like death metal and black metal. I still enjoy that kind of instrumentation but stay away from the dark lyrical content of it.

This Headphone is available in my country for 150€ and the Mic solution you present here almost sold me but this Video is 2 years old now. In your opinion, do you think this is still a good option in that price range for Allround Headphones or is this too much for a non-Audiophile looking for Allround Headphones? I also never had Open-Back Headphones but I am using Velour Pads on my Closed-Backs since I don´t like too much isolation, it just muffles environment sounds by aprox. half. Oh, and do I need the DAC/AMP thingy to make them sound good or is it fine over Onboard Sound?

Well you could probably just plug this straight into pc. For pc there are other options as well if you haven’t bought this yet that have more power. Depending on the ohm rating of your headphones you may not need anything else. This would probably work for 32 or 80 ohm versions. If you want to use it as a dac you would plug this into your pc then plug this into your amp. But for pc you don’t really need to do all that, you could just buy a cheap dac like an apple usb c to 3.5mm adapter and plug that into the amp. Or easier yet just use your headphone out and plug it into your amp, depending on how good the headphone out is on your computer. You may just be able to plug your headphones into your pc as well depending on the ohm rating of the headphones.
