This talented man has unfortunately never heard of the revolutionary invention called gloves.

Is this not simply intaglio? I think rotogravure is a form of mechanical reproduction!

What, what an amazing process. That dodging and burning with your hand; what a revelation! :O

oh man the final reveal of the print after it goes through the press is so exciting! I absolutely love etching & woodcuts.. I didn't know there were press's that was automatic? The ones I am used to using has a huge wheel where I crank it to print lol.. good stuff!!

From a comment by Cyrus MrT two years before yours, time stamped at 2:08, it seems to be dichromate.

Such a time honored tradition kept alive by a craftsman that grasp the importance of just how delicate a process this is. Wonderful work.

This was insane! Fantastic finished print. A true collaboration between photographer and printer make this print what it is. Was this a Sally Mann photograph?

I saw but I didn't understand. Actually explaining the steps would be useful. And its nuts not to show the final result all the more as this is supposed to be a demonstration of a type of PRINTMAKING.

As someone who took a class on how to do this and was too confused by the process, this demo was very helpful. Thank you for posting this!!

Yeah I was amazed by the no gloves there as well. Maybe they want some new appendages to grow off of their hands?

This is so cool! I would really like to do something like these for a 4H project this year. Do you know anyway that I could contact the person featured in this video for my information on the process?
