oh man the final reveal of the print after it goes through the press is so exciting! I absolutely love etching & woodcuts.. I didn't know there were press's that was automatic? The ones I am used to using has a huge wheel where I crank it to print lol.. good stuff!!

As someone who's done a lot of lithography, gloves can sometimes end up being more of a hindrance in this type of work. Looks like this type of printing requires a lot of hand friction too, where gloves would get in the way and he'd have to take them on and off constantly, probably getting his hands dirty in the process anyway. Because of these methods, there's measures in place like the little bits of card to hold and keep the printing paper clean from any excess ink.

This was insane! Fantastic finished print. A true collaboration between photographer and printer make this print what it is. Was this a Sally Mann photograph?
