A lot less experimented than BD but it's great to see alternatives like that ! Wheels are definitely the way to go, the only downside being rough terrains and stairs (where quadrupedals robots are more at ease even with basic software detection). Perhaps for this you could implement a toggle to make the legs behave like actual legs ? If you can prevent the wheel from spinning, the bottom of it would then become a foot to stand upon. I don't know the practicality of it (money and technology wise), but on papers it sounds like a good solution to explore if you haven't yet :)

Put a seat on it so people can use this as a wheelchair. Let it switch between robotic assisted mode and manual mode

6 giant brushless motors, neat but this thing is going to be crazy heavy / expensive huh? Looks like y'all ditched the fancier geometry in the earlier versions and just throwing huge motors at the leg problem, similar to others, I guess I can understand, it's just a few grand more for the bot and makes the engineering problems and software a lot easier.

@@Ree1981 No need to use 4 wheels or legs when 2 wheels can handle 90% of the situations (aside from stairs which are fairly difficult even with big wheels, unless they're temporarily toggled to be used like legs).

I'll let others praise the obvious engineering pts. What I like about Ascento's wheeled bipedal robots is how aesthetic the masculine and industrial design is. They never cover up the cool structural pieces or adorn with too much unnecessary plastic curves. but adds just enough flair to cut a confident & well thought out silhouette. Take a nap in the park with this disarming urban goofball but fight crime 70s style at night.
