Nice work, but the original sequence is precisely timed so the Beethoven hexagon appears at the same time the theme tune quotes his fifth symphony. Now the quotation accompanies Gerry Rafferty and a hot air balloon!

Another really impressive piece of work - the set and game board are incredibly realistic. The board's mechanism was so complicated as it was made up of projectors and slides with the multiple letters and coloured hexagons which could malfunction and overheat quite often. I was a regular viewer of the original Blockbusters right back to episode 1 in 1983 until it ended in 1994. I was one of the possible students from my school to appear around 1988/89 but the waiting list for schools and colleges was so long that our school didn't appear til a couple of years later. Great show, great times.
@JayLS3 ай бұрын
@@mrb3097 Thanks again - glad you like it! Yes, the board is a fascinating set piece and must have been very complicated. It would have been cool to go behind the scenes and see how it all worked. Watching the first series, I've noticed that it sometimes goes a bit wrong, often during the Gold Run when someone starts passing. I guess they were new to it back then. Aw, it's a shame you didn't get on. The Holness years were before my time, but it's great to see so many episodes, both on here and Challenge. Undoubtedly, the best version of the show. It's a shame ITV ditched it as I'm sure it could have carried on for many more years.

You have an error here, it's supposed to be a $100 banknote not a $50 banknote in the intro, because in every "Money Drop" intro it has to be a higher banknote for example: in the Philippine version, they used ₱1,000 banknote in the intro because it's the highest banknote.
@andimuhammadrifkialqadri40013 ай бұрын
but the Aussie version uses $20 banknote, not $50 nor $100.
@Hgames_RBLX2 ай бұрын
Something similar happens in the Sri Lankan version where the title sequence shows Rs. 5,000 notes even though they use a lower denomination for the real bundles.
@jacetaneneko_vt26 күн бұрын
They use the banknotes they use in the real set's cash bundles. Like how in the UK, we used £50 in the logo because we used £50 for the set (and also because the reddish tint coupled well with the red graphics, although its more likely it was inpired the other way round.)

@andimuhammadrifkialqadri40013 ай бұрын
hopefully not. I don't like the U.S. graphics.
@andreelpedes75233 ай бұрын
@@andimuhammadrifkialqadri4001 Well that's your preference, but I also love their US theme music which is composed by "ispy music" because here in the Philippines we also have a gameshow called "The Million Peso Money Drop" (aired on TV5) which uses the USA graphics and music; and it's hosted Vic Sotto who hosted "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" on TV5 and "Boom!" a quiz show segment for "Eat Bulaga!".

this quiz show should return to the U.S. (on either NBC, ABC, CBS or FOX), but with the show title "The Million Dollar Drop" and the UK red graphics (I really hate the bluish graphics they did in late 2010) following the original UK format.
