I think that the button is so big and it’s round the way it is because of the glove issue, but I also think because it’s an automatic and Spyderco is known for their manual opening with the Spidey hole that they made the automatic button similar to a Spidey hole so when you press it, you’re opening the knife with the Spidey hole, technically. It’s a pretty cool detail.

That sucks, your video just prompted me to try loosening my 15v Para 3 lw clip, it came loose easily. I think you're right about yours being cross threaded or at least red loc-tited.

I use a pocket torch directly on the thumb studs and have had success a bunch of times. Luckily I haven't needed it lately for any.

Hey. I have had quite good results for my knives. I've probably ordered it 6 times by now. ✨😻

One option is to use a cordless drill to quickly spin that screw out, sometime there is enough friction holding the pinned side where the drill can quickly unstick the screw enough to get it going. Another thing you can do, is take a dremel and cut a slot in the pin side so that you can fit a small flathead screwdriver in the slot to secure the pinned end while you unscrew the other side. then clean up/smooth out the cutout once you have it out. you can use a small enough size cutting wheel so that the scales do not get damaged. and if you're replacing the scales who really cares anyway. This is one of the reasons I dislike the LW of this model, also not a fan of the handle flex, it just isn't a very sturdy knife in general being linerless. also not crazy about the very thin lockbar in there, more prone to failure. This knife might be a good letter opener, but any sort of heavier use and I wouldn't trust it.

The Predator has adjustable spring tension (3 holes). When you adjust the springs to the closest position it's actually quite stiff (which i prefer). Out of the box I was going to return the predator because the spring tension was so weak until I realized it's adjustable... The Ronan is now available with wood handles and damascus blade and a few other new options.

Have latest version with s35vn steel. I did not notice any issues. There are out there so many similar super steels blades and people complaining like small children. In reality for most people d2 or aus8 steel is more than enough. This knife is stronger than bugout, little bit heavier and is better&excellent working horse.

I do have to say the Manix 2 was waaayyyyy harder to assemble than the para 3. I bought some slim sniper grey awt scales with cobalt blue pocket clip awt sells. Imo I hate the stock pocket clips so much, and looooove awt’s Spyderco pocket clips. Nice and slim and compact.

The only thing that's heavy metal about a Bugout is the price, I don't care if you put barbed wire scales on it and dip it in acid, it's a mild and vanilla folder and pretty much the opposite of the vibe you were going for.

The Lil' Native also comes in a backlock version, the Chapparal is the Lil' Manix at best although I'd say the Sage 3 deserves that title. It's not that similar to the Native 5 by Spyderco standards.
