@@educatetube thanks for your reply. I couldn't find any info about anyone attempting to recharge these non-rechargeable CR123A batteries, so I'm not going to take a chance. I have found that the retailer Lowes sells Surefire lithium CR123A batteries quite cheaply at $4.97 for 2 batteries. Made in USA.

If you are recharging it, make sure to start at very low current (less 100mA) and monitor the voltage. DO NOT let it be overcharged, keep monitoring it and turn it off when you are away from it. Don't take any risk without great precaution.

I have a charger from Amazon (still available, i think) called Maximal Power FC999 Mark 3, which charges lithium, NiMH, Alkaline and NiCad of all sizes and voltages, including 9v. It has been working well for me for 3 years now. Excellent video, there, and i think i will experiment with making my own, too, like yours...just for fun. Many thanks.

My 4K Panasonic TV has a really good HDR Remaster feature as well as great upscaling and other enhancements, so regular blu-rays looks great, and are a third the price of 4K discs. So I will be sticking to that setup for the time being. It's interesting what the usual trends trick you into purchasing when if you think about it a little and are slightly savvy you could definitely do without the latest of everything.

About your "advantages", having more buttons is not really thrilling anyone, while the cost factor would, I mean if the people involved didn't already have phones. I have half a dozen cameras and am adding lenses, but the two little elphs are not finding any use, and you were unable to supply reasons for keeping them, as I also have the phone with a good camera like everyone else does. By the way my Samsung S20 was only a few hundred bucks used. Used, like all the point and shoots. I'm happy to see someone put out the effort to talk about this, so thanks, and have a good one.

Do you not find optical zoom and the powerful flash are two of the key features important in point and shoot cameras? Also low resolution (240p) video recording is a bonus for those who want to record thousands of videos for memory sake and store it in a hard drive.

Is there a solution to this? Using magic jack plus for panasonic cordless home phone......never had these issues until about a year ago, and have had device for 7+ years.

Yes, it's hard to tell between 1080p and 4k resolution, unless you can project at least 120" on a projector screen and sitting between 8-12 feet away. Most people don't care as it is the content and sound of the movie that is the most important.

Yes, it does work but is very limited and imho not really worth it. The best way to recharge is to use pulsed DC just after a rectifier diode (or bridge rect.) - no smoothing. Max. Charge voltage can go up to 1.6 or max. 1.65V and max. current for AAA is less than 50 mA, for AA max. 100 mA. The possibility of leakage will increase drastically - in my case after 2...3 years 25% of all recharged batteries suffer from leakage! Don't use recharged cells for expensive electronics at all! Only use them for cheap, low load devices like clocks e.g. Imho its not really worth the fuss - much better to use NiMH rechargeable batteries or the new li-ion ones - they don't leak!

Look, if you buy DVDs you're asking for problems. I've been collecting for over two decades. Most of what I have is on DVD and I'm talking about over 8,000 titles. I bought everything brand spanking new, and despite that many of the disks didn't work. I've had to replace many of them. It's not because they go bad necessarily, it's just that I didn't have time to watch them all the way through and missed a lot of lemons. Fortunately, you can download software that's called MakeMKV and use it to back up your films. You can also use the free software to TEST each of your disks. This way, before it's too late, you can find out which of them need to be replaced. Now, DVD is an unreliable technology. It can also be easily pirated and there's a lot of counterfeit online. Your disks may not play at all. May only play in part, and the resolution could be bad just because DVD doesn't have much room for information. Information that would make up the image and sound. More space on a disk should mean more pixels on the screen. Same with detail in audio. When it comes to audio channels, instead of low resolution square waves, you get smoother waves. Another characteristic of DVD is it's easily scratched, but often repairable. Comparing that to Blu-ray, which doesn't scratch easily but isn't repairable if damaged. Blu-rays can be about the same price as DVDs these days. If you look at used offerings on Amazon and Ebay for example. You're more likely to get a working Blu-ray than a working DVD. As the trend has more people buying large televisions at higher resolutions, DVD image quality can be blurry, or have a lot of distortion. Your dedicated disk reader, the cable that connects it to your tv, the TV's ability to render image and sound at a certain speed will all play into your experience being what it is. Don't buy Blu-ray disks unless you own a Blu-ray player. If you don't want to buy an expensive dedicated player (a player that is on its own connected to your TV Vs. your PC's Blu-ray disk reader) then you can buy what's called an optical drive (optical because it has an eye that takes in the laser light that bounces off the disk) that you either install in your computer or one that you can connect through a USB (universal serial bus) socket on your Personal Computer. Region codes... for the sake of protecting sellers, both Blu-rays and DVDs have region locking baked into their code. You can't play a region 2 DVD on a region 1 DVD player. You can't play a region A Blu-ray on a region B Blu-ray player. But! If you were unlucky and couldn't find your film in the region your player accepts, like when buying on Amazon and you want Sean Connery's "Medicine Man" but it's only available on Blu-ray from Spain, you will want to either have a Dedicated all-region Blu-ray player... or A PC with a Blu-ray optical drive and download MakeMKV (free). MakeMKV will remove the region restrictions. You will back up your film onto your hard disk drive (HDD) or solid state drive (SSD). Then you will want to choose a software to play your films. You can of course connect your PC to your television directly, and also set up surround sound. For surround sound, your PC needs to have a motherboard with the audio channels and related audio channel plugs on the back of your PC. You can buy an audio card to plug into your motherboard. But it has to be compatible. For that you identify your motherboard, find out from the manufacturer's website what it can do and what is compatible. If you want more information just contact me through my channel. Write a comment under a video I've uploaded. There are different versions of HDMI. Some cables have 19 pins and others have 29 pins. Which makes some cables incompatible with some slots. There are computer chips in cables these days. USB-C cables for example have sophisticated IC chips that ensure reliable streams of data. These cables can easily cost 100$. The cheaper options will be less reliable. That means sometimes they will not work as well and other times they will simply break. HDMI works the same way. But don't be fooled into paying a fortune for nothing. Research, find out which cable in your price range is best for your needs. Don't rely on one source, and visit the manufacturer's website for more information. The basics about video resolutions. Old cathode ray televisions (CRT / boob tube / TV sets) would commonly have 480x320 dots per inch with a 30 frames per second refresh rate and 4x3 aspect ratio (so almost a square). The CRT wasn't digital, though more recent versions have an RGB chip (Jungle chip) that divides the video into three distinct channels. This technology is called Component or YPbPr or RGB. Red, Green, Blue. Another two cables are needed for audio which are usually identified as Red (right) and White (left).. This older technology was limited in how it processed transmitted signals, and was completely analog. Analog measures frequency. Digital in comparison is more like morse code. So an increasing speed of a wave vs. on and off signals. For this reason CRT screens would process video in a way that's called interlaced. If you had two frames of a video, you would cut them into strands and weave them together. This way the speed at which the video would play would be good enough, and the human eye couldn't see a difference. When we speak in terms of image resolutions on TVs you commonly have 480i, 480p, 720i, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, 1280p and so on. The "i" stands for interlaced. The "p" stands for progressive. Progressive is a format that displays complete images as keyframes. Between the keyframes are in between frames that don't change completely. They're used to transition between frames and give the impression of constant movement. A current TV should work with progressive. Now, if you notice strange lines appearing behind moving objects and people on the screen that's an interlacing distortion effect. That's the result of the two frames being cut and woven together. Try to picture that in your mind. Some DVDs use an interlace format, compatible with old CRT sets. Blu-rays should all be progressive. Computer screens do better displaying progressive video. If you're going to invest in some technology you may as well go for Blu-ray. If you're going to buy an adapter to display video from a PC, your new video game console, your Blu-ray on an old TV (CRT screen) then you will need an adapter. Make sure to get the right specifications. Because most adapters don't accept a 4K quality signal. It's somewhat complicated and you will have to spend time learning about different aspects of the technology. Otherwise, ask me. Write a comment on my KZbin channel and if I see it I will respond.

It has a lot to do with the wires inside the cable. The cheap ones have little to no copper inside. Many have aluminum wire instead of copper. The wires inside have just a couple strands of metal wire and that is not enough to carry the amps needed for fast charging. There is a good app for android called Ampere. It shows a lot of info about charging speeds. I used the app to go thru my charging cords and figure out which ones were able to fast charge and what ones I put away. I labeled them to make it easier for me to ID the cable.

Viewing distance and screen size is key to determine whether you should have Blu-ray or 4K Blu-ray. If you're watching a 55-in screen from more than 3 m away you'll be hard pushed to tell the difference between 4K and 2K Blu-ray. However if you have a large format screen 75 in and your sit less than 3 m away you will definitely notice the difference. Then there's Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos to consider as well🤔

I learned along time ago that alkaline batteries can be recharged, you just have to watch them carefully. Had some leak ( none blew up ) but found that the device ( cheaper ones) could be cleaned by using white vinegar on q-tips and lightly rinse in tap water, air drying or with hair dryer. Saved a lot of money.
