They were still building the light-rail when I was in the ACT last and from this footage it ended up being a very successful project. From my first time in the ACT thirty years ago to what the territory has become it's a massive change for the better. I love Canberra..... 😎🇦🇺👍
@thaitransit28 күн бұрын
Yes the Canberra light rail is great. It would be nice if they built the wooden and airport routes as soon as possible and not stall for years on end!

A very interesting video, and a place I'm looking forward to seeing for myself soon. One thing though: Either stand dead still when videoing or get a tripod. It makes all the difference when making videos. I've made numerous videos (click my username). Generally I try to stand still, other times if I have time to set up I will use a tripod.

I am getting a new gimbal video camera to smooth out videos. However most of my videos coming up were filmed prior to 2024. So it will be a while before any 2024 footage is uploaded.

Thanks for uploading. Love the open door, just as it should be! It’s good to see the route reinstated now, but it’ll never be as good as it was in this video. The government will do anything to kill off our small bus operators these days.

Why are they running diesel locomotives under electric wires? Would electric locomotives not be a whole lot cheaper? Especially at today's prices for diesel?!?!?
@thaitransit3 ай бұрын
They only operate electric coal trains nowdays in central Queensland. Many years ago, there were electric locomotive hauled general freight trains between Brisbane and Rockhampton. The freight companies seem to think its cheaper to use diesel locomotives than build new electric locomotives. The other issue is they will have to sawp to diesel locomotives at Rockhampton if they want to travel north of Rockhampton as that area is not electrified.

Not sure could be air supply from the locomotives behind or an onboard compressor.
