I was fortunate as Canadian youth that my Parents owned property on Singer Islands Ocean Dr. in the 80’s 90’s to enjoy Peanut Island and Sailfish Marina.

Like this location but it can't compare to Hollywood Beach Florida and fort Lauderdale Las olas boulevard, Miami Beach, Hallandale Beach Florida, haulover Beach Florida, I had a better time than this place.❤

I lived in Sarasota in the 90's and snorkeled Point of Rocks many times. For better visibility, I found going after high tide was the best. Generally, the cloudy stuff in the water comes in from low tide to high tide, then goes out from high tide to low tide. Just after high tide makes the water a little deeper and more areas are accessible. So fun!

Thanks for posting this! This answered all my questions and concerns about launching at Rogers park vs WW state park. Would you say paddling upstream here is okay for beginners? It doesn’t look like the current is too bad
@justinnadeau
@justinnadeau 7 ай бұрын
You’re welcome! Things have changed since I’ve posted this though. I believe you cannot get out and sit on the sides or have you kayak on the sides either. I think it’ll be fine for beginners, my wife and I came here when we first started to paddle board. Falling off is fine and cools you off at least. Current isn’t too strong especially, if it hasn’t rained on a while.

Bro is that a good fishing spot and how deep would it be just to swim over from side to side to go fishing
@justinnadeau
@justinnadeau 7 ай бұрын
I think it would be a great spot. I’ve seen huge snook there and people fishing from a kayak. I’ve never seen anyone swim across though, some spots are deep and I’ve seen a lot of sharks in those deep spots there especially in the mornings when it’s not a lot of boats/jet-skis. I’m sure they wouldn’t bother you but the people on the jet skis I’d be more afraid of man. You could rent a kayak from there too if you didn’t want to swim to test the area out first.

The boater that thought it was cool to kill rays with his boat while he sported around in the them should’ve been shot out of the water. Then FWC should’ve arrested his stupid ass or what was left of it. Did my droner try to get his license number from the side of the boat?
