First time viewer here. Luv what you did with this room. You've achieved the bright and airy look your sister was looking for. I'm looking to do my living room over and needed inspiration. I like your painting . It's one of a kind and unique. The flowers btw are globe thistle.

This may sound weird...but what about one drapery panel pushed left on the left window and one drapery panel pushed to the right on the window to the right of the fireplace? So the two panels kind of frame both windows and the fireplace.

I love your makeover: very pretty and sophisticated, but family friendly. If you two decide on a console behind the sofa you could consider putting the mirror on that side of the room to reflect the light. I have read this, and heard it in decorating shows and in person. I resisted the advice for years and then when I realized we would not be able to use my mirror over the mantle,( we designed a new mantle/ fireplace for a gas fireplace, my husband suggested to turn my rectangular mirror verticle and try it on the smaller wall across from four different window ( 2 at right angle and 2 small directly across ).... It was amazing how that change lit the whole room! Unfortunately, there are alot of issues with tvs in the room. I had to make roman shades for my windows. Congratulations, you did a great job!! Keep us posted!

The round coffee table at the thrift store was better. Love the fiddle leaf plant. Shades would be nice, but curtains that slide across the rod away from the fireplace would work. Well done!

I have a similar story. This was with my second child. I was playing with my son and bent down and felt a pop. Within 5 minutes I knew we had to get to the hospital. The hospital was 25 minutes from our house. In the car the contractions were on top of each other and super painful. In all the craziness we pulled up to the wrong entrance and my husband wouldn't leave the car. I walked in and didn't make it far until I couldn't walk anymore. Luckily their was an employee who quickly grabbed a wheelchair. She very quickly got me to labor and delivery but it was about 3 minutes from where we were. In the elevator I knew her head was out. Once we got in the room I said I need to get my pants off. Once they pulled my pants off and got me into the bed she was out to her shoulders. The nurse pulled her our and said this was the first time she had delivered a baby herself. I completely understand the crazy urge to push. Precipitous labor is no joke, it's fast and furious.

Place the curtains on one side of the window. Left on the left window and right on the right side. It would soften up the look of them.

In my country it's actually cheaper to order the sofa with the cover included. Example: Kivik 3 seat frame w/out cover - 520$ plus 450$-800$ for a custom made cover from websites in the UK and/or USA. Versus: Kivik 3 seat sofa with cover - 849$ With the life expectancy of post-pandemic Ikea sofas it isn't worth paying the extra $$$ for a custom cover. I bought a 525$ Karlstad sofa (now discontinued) in 2016 and it lasted 7 years. Bought a 399$ Klippan in November 2024 and one side is already caving in and squeaks. And, reading the reviews this is happening even with Ikea's most expensive (2500$) sofas - cheap material which rips, pills, shrinks after washing, and/or gets dirty/stains easily; poor frame construction; sagging seat cushions; back pillows lose their shape or stuffing shifts... Such a shame really, because Ikea had a great reputation of building affordable, quality furniture and gave other furniture stores massive competition.
