Good Review,i liked the editing,one point you forgot to mention is that the pand metaphore is just bad and not well thought of in other ways,like,may being able to just straight up banish her "curse" which is not really something you can just to IRL,as well it being EXCLUSIVE to her and her family,as well as the "it's an outdated power from the past of the family"thing making no sense when you think about it as a parallel to menstruation,which is the opposite from inside out,which reconstectualizes EVERY little thing about your brain. train thought is literally a train in your head,your personality is determined by your isles,memories from different days are sent out of the headquarters into the "long term" and such others... honestly i would have like to watch a movie about the original red panda from the tapestry intead of this.

I didn't particularly love turning red as a guy, but idk this whole video gave off incel vibes to me. From the joking mispronunciation of vj and uterus, to the "I don't relate to this movie so it's a bad movie." You said it yourself, your not it's target audience, you can say that that's a bad thing and your entitled to that opinion, but discouraging anyone else from watching it and saying that rotten tomatoes was objectively wrong was so corny.
@Who-lj8mb8 сағат бұрын
Not just that but how are you going to tell people that you aren't forcing your opinion abt it but then actively discourage people from watching it and forming their own opinion, it wasn't a bad video but theirs a lot of room for growth in your channel, good luck bro 👍

Yeah as a woman, I think turning red is a lot more specific than inside out 2. I haven't even seen all of turning red but MANY instances from ads and memes are extremely relatable to me as a girl who grew up in the 2000s. At the end of the day Turning Red is about an Asian girl growing up in the 2000s who struggles with mother issues, femininity issues and creative issues and identity issues. As well as how to handle her puberty. Inside Out is about a Canadian girl, but really it focuses more on the abstract concepts of tweens fitting in and struggling with anxiety and suppressing emotions. It's A LOT broader for more types of people to relate to. And so I think they're both good and both valid. It definitely seems super fucking tone deaf and immature to call Turning Red an objectively bad movie that doesn't deserve any attention when it's extremely popular and was a genuine success because so many people DID resonate with it. It's just not for everyone, especially not for men and that's not a bad thing

@Who-lj8mb Okay hold up, first I’m sorry that came across that way but I have a reason why I encouraged others opinions on the movie but discouraged showing it to people since the movie tackles puberty in a much different way then Inside Out 2 and if this is a kids first introduction to puberty it may confuse them because of the whole representation of a panda. Also to push back at the incel vibes you got that is the key reason I brought up “Are You There God It’s Me Margaret” because I wanted to make sure people understood that it’s not because I hate women but that I don’t like Turning Red’s depiction and think that it could’ve learned from other movies that give off more accurate and realistic depictions of puberty. It seems you missed the point of the video and was thrown off by your speculations but honestly I don’t blame you cuz every other video essay guy talking about movies seems to be the most racist, sexist and most homophobic person of all time so I knew while making this that talking about periods and puberty in a sense I’m not familiar with was going to be a bit risky but knew that this was my opportunity to attempt to educate.

@ariannebrodeur I’m sorry I offended you but maybe instead of calling someone f-ing tone deaf, maybe you watch the movie and make your own opinion about it and not just based off of clips because at least if you watched it you could like it and then call me f-ing tone deaf cuz then I’d be deserving of it lol, all in all I’m sorry and have a good day :)

from what I've seen from Turning Red Explained by an Asian and me personally being Chinese, I'd say its more of the Asian teenage experience and rather underated according to standards from an Asian view

i feel like the only thing i really appreciated and related to from inside out 2 was probably the fact that they annotated the existence of Canada/Toronto and made it so for once a movie didn't take place in the us , I felt really appreciated since I'm from Canada living near Toronto. and the second thing I related to was mai at the beginning of the movie being an overachiever and getting good grades. with is what I really care about a lot but I hate how they kind of made it so that she slowly stoped caring about her grades. meanwhile inside out to I really connected with Riely over her feelings and her desire to just be good for others or just be good enough fro myself. and also the fact that she had to move somewhere new where she didn't know anyone plot of the first movie.

I don’t think that General Kai is really dead: the prophecy that Oogway made about him was that he could be stopped by a true master of chi, stopped but not necessarily killed. Moreover, the Spirit Realm does appear to have different sections or facets to it: notice that General Kai (and he really should be called *General* Kai, since it is a more formidable name than simply “Kai”) approaches two living villagers and asks them if they’d die if he stepped on them. We can kind of deduce that there are different facets of the Spirit Realm from this alone.
@Enchanted___Күн бұрын
Well those villagers were in the real world and not in the spirit realm so it would make more sense that if he stepped on them then they would die because they aren’t actually in the spirit realm, although yes they never said they needed to kill General Kai but instead they need to stop him

To me the biggest problem with the villain was that her motivation broke the logic of that world. she says she was rejected by every master because of her small size but there's literally 5 others I can think of off the top of my head That are all very small yet very powerful so clearly small creatures get accepted as kung fu disciples all the time The mantis the snake And even the main mentor of the series are all very small individuals the chicken and the Peacock not that big either they're pretty small The Monkey Also small in fact not that I'm thinking on it A good chunk of the different fighters you see throughout this story are particularly small

Honestly South Park Seasons 1 to 11 are peak amazing both funny & original south park got really good during season 4 onwards Seasons 12 to 15 are alright not as good as previous seasons feels like the end of Old South Park especially with the getting Old episode. Seasons 16 to 19 are meh season eighteen was the strongest everything else is passable Seasons 20 to 26 are somewhat bad but still watchable it is most noticeable during these seasons that they got rid of a lot of classic characters & started making the focus on characters nobody likes like Pc principal strong woman token heidi & president Garrison not to mention the story plots go absolutely nowhere now & leave many questions un answered Matt & Trey also started relying on Randy way too much to tell modern stories main memorable characters like Stan Butters & especially kenny are no longer relevant anymore it feels like the creators don't care about the show anymore probably due to caring more about owning the actual Casa Bonita restrant. Lastly The specials Post covid and not suitable for children are great the other specials are really bad & not worth watching end of obesity was terrible.
