I have met a lot of germans who could speak and understand english at conversation level, however, i have met a lot more who couldnt. Whenever i cross the boarder to germany (im from denmark), most of the cashiers in the stores/kebab places cant speak english, even the ones my age (20 ish) so its really a struggle to communicate with them some times. And when i have german custumers at my work place here in denmark, its really only like half of them who can speak english (none of them speak danish, which is understandable. I dont speak german either). I just find it fascinating how People can travel to another country without knowing Any other language than their native one.

Staying on the right side on an escalator allowing others to pass by if they're in a hurry. I wonder if that's a thing in London only, or if that rule is being followed outside of London too.

Hastings has the largest land based fishing fleet in europe. Has a few things like church at bottom of harold road which is over 1000 years old. One if not first norman castle built after 1066. The old town has hundred odd ole style small doored timber beam pubs! And they have world record pirate day and jack n green day and world championship gor mini golf every year. And the pier which used to be better and is now fancy but has live music.

I had no problems at all living and working in Germany for over 2 years. I was on first name terms with everyone. my german home had hard floors and carpet floors. More is the same rather than different.

Irish-American and proud. The Irish are such friendly and warm people. The Brits have a reputation of being a bit snobbish, but I don't want to generalize all Brits that way because some of them are genuinely nice people. The same could be said for Americans. 🇮🇪 🇺🇸

Point 3.Ever since we stopped using 'how do you do?' which over the decades lost it's original meaning we have gone back to the beginning with the cumbersome 'how are you?' This awful phrase requires answering.'alright.?' is probably better.

I am from Libya and lived in Bournemouth and London for few years. looking at your channel cheers me up and almost becoming addiction because it brings lots of memories so thanks a million for sharing and all the work that you do. regarding breakfast i tend to have a miserable routine lately, as i will grab sth from nearest grocery store when i go to work normally, a piece of cake and juice but really after having watched this episode am looking to change that maybe will even try the intermittent fasting. Cheers :)

British English is preferred in most European countries, despite American English having more speakers. This is due to the UK being part of Europe, therefore making it their neighbor.

ALL British behavior is rude, save keeping reticent and ignoring and avoiding others as much as possible. Privacy is everything in such a crowded, increasingly sordid little island.

We the scots are very friendly except the younger idiots who followed nicola sturgeon. The majority of scots are not interested in independence. This is a small island and we need to stick together. I love the rest of the country and go to england quite often.

He is a little boy in a man's body. He had attitude long before he met Meaghan. Her problem is she came here as a brash loud American. Obviously she had just not done her homework. Always untidy with the hair. The royals work and work hard and that is something Meaghan wasn't prepared to do that and Harry was only in the army for ten years. Bye the way I love america. Travelled from Montana to Texas and Mexico by car and have been to san Francisco, Alaska then new York a couple of times. I think the difference is the Americans power through and we Brits continually say sorry. Oops forgot new Orleans for the Mardi gras.

I admire the English. Americans can be rude, loud, brash. Not sophisticated. But they will respect you Brits. It's yer accent that makes them obsequious. It's yer manners that make you tip top. Polite manners.

My advice is to have your subtitle as an option, this prevents learners from reading the transcription and instead, force them to focus on listening and understand the spoken language.
