Have wanted to do NOLS / Alaska backpacking since I was in college. Still on the bucket list 30+ years later. For now I just get to experience it through your eyes! Haha! 😂

Mosquitos were not as bad as Yosemite, but still because of the ice melt, they are heavy. I had a bug net and wore long sleeves in camp and was fine.

Was just up in this area with my buddies a few weeks ago. We made it up to Campfire Lake which was the highlight of our trip. Amazing views towards Lake Edison from the saddle up there. Still a lot of snow.

@@seanlee8163 didn’t need micro spikes for that particular area, it was just a lot of off trail, we planned on doing Jewel Lake and Kaiser Peak, but def needed micro spikes for that (which we didn’t have) so campfire lake was as far we got.

Yes they are. Almost all of the national parks in the Sierra Range require bear vaults. I have a BV450 and it’s plenty for a solo weekend.

How long do you have to be in th navy to become a diver?

You can apply as a civilian and go right after Boot Camp. Otherwise if you join for a non-specialty rate, you can apply 3 years after your active duty service date.

Compared to National Defence Academy India or Nigerian Defence Academy Nigeria it seems you guys in USNA are just enjoying life, yet still produce the best soldiers. . NDA India and Nigeria is hell of a environment till graduation yet is nothing compared to USNA
